Hi Brains Trust

Any thoughts as to where this leak is coming from (LC105 with 1FZ-FE)? - my initial through was the rear seal of the oil pan (red circle) , but there is also some visible seepage on the transmission housing? (green circle)

The Oil Pan is higher than the transmission housing.

If its the oil pan I'm guessing its not too hard to fix, bit if the leak is coming from the transmission housing (green circle) - How big of a job is that to replace?

Thanks
Steve

Give it a good clean and then check where it originates. A such a widespread leak in the oil pan gasket may not be possible. How is the valve cover gasket? Does the oil filter mounted horizontally? Then it may leak while removing and oil gets accumulated towards the end of the engine?

Replacing the rear seal requires to pull the trans out. Seal may be $10 but it is a long labor intensive job.
