I need to put in an aftermarket oil pressure gauge can anyone tell me the thread size for the adaptor.

Thanks
Matt

sort of.

1/8" pipe (NPT) will work, but the true thread pitch is 1/8" BSBT (metric pipe threads)

They do make adapters to convert.

i tapped my adapter using a 1/8" npt tap and is screwed in with finger pressure untill the tapers came up tight.... seemed to be the perfect pitch.

The unit I bought and most of the ones I looked at came with several adapters that allowed me to fit mine. Same with the Water temp.

They do fit, the angles of the threads are different.

And, considering it is an interference fit anyway...

But it is "technically" not correct (I was corrected by an engineer ;) )

If you use the fitting that comes with water temp that screws into the housing make sure you use Teflon tape it only starts to seal on the last few threads

Save yourself a lot of hassle and buy a 10 dollar adapter and do it right.

Any automotive box store that sells auto meter can order it.

This way if you want to go back to stock the threads are not all hosed.
