Well i picked up an 8274, My old (Brand New) 9000Xi was a great winch, but it sat to high, and was blocking air flow to my grill :D Plan is to mount it down as low as i can, and build a new bumper & tube work to go with it!

Some photos of the winch..

Needs some new fluid, some cleaning up, new Electrical Cables& Boots, and maybe some paint..

Anyone have a source for those wire boots, or cable.. (ive heard of people using Welding Cable) and a new sticker would be cool too!

Also, where do most of the replacement parts come from?? Warn or elsewhere?

I just rebuilt my 8274 and used the Warn service parts as listed above. They had all the parts in stock that I needed and had them to me in two days. They have the boots you need for $1.75 each.

There are a couple of rebuild threads that have all the info you need (where to get parts, decals, etc).

I'll bump mine to the top...just cruise through it real quick.

I bought a bunch of marine cabling and shrink tube here -http://genuinedealz.com/

I used solder pellets and lugs from Napa.

Heavier cables, and especially adding a ground cable if that 8274 is old enough to not have one, are not a bad idea.

I would go with 00 or 0 guage for battery to winch and ground, and something in the 1-3 guage range for the solenoid to motor cables.
