My Daughter's 99 with ~225k is coming up for sale as we just got her a project tundra

The good:
-OEM locker works flawlessly
-newish 285s
-no rust (originally an Alabama car, but in VB since 2012ish)
-Frankies Off-Road progressive springs in the rear
-Dobinsons TBs for front(not currently installed)
-Runs, REALLY well. I don't know why, but it is waay faster than either of our other 100s.
-decent shape second row, good shape third row.
-good stereo.
-Newish rotors and front brakes
-Brand new OEM headlights installed 2018
-newish heater Ts
-A/C works great.
-oil religiously changed every 5k

The bad:
-Front seats are rough. Structurally fine, and comfortable... but rough.
-steering wheel has the normal wear hole at 12 o'clock
-brand new front bumper is scuffed from my daughter running into someone and also bumping a guardrail at Uwharie.:censor:
-A few dings and small dents consistent with a vehicle this age.
-the spare is not a 285:frown:
-The Timing belt may not have been done at 180k. The PO assured me that it was done, but I have no proof
-Heater is Iffy as the PO mixed coolant resulting in some scaling that has reduced flow in both heaters. I have flushed them both with CLR, and progress is being made, but there is still work to be done there.
-Related to the above--the radiator may need to be replaced. It does just fine unless you want to run over 70 on a hot day with the AC on. Then it wants to overheat. It has never been overheated, and I flushed the radiator with CLR this winter, so it *might* be fine, but I'd plan on replacing it.
-At least one torn CV boot.
-At least one torn Ball joint boot (can't remember which)
-Sometimes gets water in the driver's footwell, not sure if it is a sunroof drain or improper windshield install, but it will sometimes go for months with no water, and then it will be wet all of the sudden.
-non original p/s fender professionally painted and matched by high end body shop--looks fantastic.
-CEL for O2 sensor

So.. what's the story here? Nothing too complex--A friend was leaving the Navy and moving out of the country, and my daughter was turning 16. Her assigned vehicle was a manual transmission Tacoma(see sig) which she wasn't thrilled with. I was able to get this for a reasonable price and she agreed to pay the payments and all associated costs of car ownership... As such, being a teenage girl, she has spent her disposable income on things other than vehicle maintenance, so I'll offer the following explanations:

-TBs not installed: to avoid exacerbating the CV and ball joint issues
-CV and ball joint issues: not prioritized for funding
-O2 sensor: not prioritized for funding
-seats: not prioritized for funding
-Heater, radiator, etc: not prioritized for funding
-etc, etc, etc,...not prioritized for funding

So with the current market, she saw an opportunity to sell her 100 (as imperfect as it is) to fund the repairs her Tundra needs.

I , unfortunately, get to be the seller of said imperfect 100 series. (yes I realize that I am being taken advantage of, but I am also charging her interest, so there's that..)

In any case, it is a turn key DD that needs some work to be perfect. Anyone who has been at the relic run or Logan's run in recent years has likely seen it (and us) in person. It runs well, wheels well, and is in pretty good shape for it's age. With a little love, this will be an excellent rig.

Also, I have informed my daughter that it will be more work to fix her tundra than to address the issues with the 100, but she has decided she wants a truck...

Price is 8k, but I can probably do a little better for mud members so that I don't have to deal with the general public. This is as honest a for sale post as has ever been made, and I am honestly a little embarrassed at the price, but I don't control the market...I just have land cruisers...

Tundra pic for giggles..

No. Dan, implore her to keep the cruiser. Tundras are awesome but the cruiser is better. Front O2 sensors are stupid easy to change so the CEL is off for prospective buyer. I have one spare I can offer at Relic that tested good. I also have some Patrick starfish rims for the tundra that are in excellent shape. Taking up space and free to your household.

Travis, I appreciate the offers! We are only one rim short of a set for the Tundra, so I'm hoping we can find one. If not, I'm sure Liz will take you up on your offer, although I'd recommend charging her for the rims. As far as the o2 sensor, it hasn't been a priority so far, so I don't think it is currently.

I'll claim responsibility for this on account of two situations

1. My 80 that I owned for 11 years had had a CEL for 9ish of those years.. not always because of an o2 sensor, but mostly.

2. The tacoma has a CEL for an o2 sensor that I have declined to fix because: a) it is the beater truck and b) there is an unknown voodoo ritual required to determine which sensor is required in a 98 3rz tacoma--I don't feel like doing a voodoo ritual.

All that to say, that a CEL hasn't been an uncommon sight in our vehicles, so I can't really blame Liz for not bothering with the o2 sensor :hillbilly: :hillbilly:

She’s lucky to have a dad like you. Cheap is my mantra for her. Six pack of root beer and they are hers. These are from the ‘03 tundra I had. I guess cruiser karma works on tundras too? Truth be told, I got them with the 80 series interior I purchased a few years ago.

I kind of want it gone sooner rather than later.

When will I see u again?

Meet and greet?
Relic run?

I picked up an LX450 from a friend a while back and have it road worthy now. One of the things it's missing is a spare tire. Anyone got one they'd part with?

I got a trailer hitch from Dave for my 100 series that I didn't end up using. I'll get some pics tomorrow but if anyone wants it let me know. Free to a good home and can bring to the M&G this weekend.

Should fit 100 series and LX470s.
