I have a set of used leaf springs, u-bolts, shackles and pins that came off my 79FJ40 while I was doing a complete restoration. They have been sandblasted and repainted with POR-15. Also have rear drum brakes (complete) taken off the same 79FJ40 as I installed a disc brake conversion. And I have the front windshield that I took out when doing the restoration project (it would be fine for a trail truck) Located in Winston-Salem….. Thanks Tom. (Including a picture of my finished 79FJ40)

@southerncruiser62
Would those drums work?

Drums were functional when I removed them but they did have the ‘classic’ piston leakage…..so instead of rebuilding them I decided to just go with kit to replace them with disc conversion (I already have factory front disc brakes). They have been in storage for several years…..I’ll try to get some pics of them on Sat and post them.

I bought these OzTent chairs for my wife and I to use at the F1 Race in Austin 2 weeks ago. We only used them for the 3 day event; so they were used one or three times each…. Whatever is more honest. They are the lightweight and heated (sorta) version of the King Goanna and cost me just under $200 each. I will sell them for $100 each and throw in the unused heat packs.

Fenders were okay. Body and glass mostly untouched. They sawzall'd the rust free frame and controll arms to pull engine and axle in one shot as I was walking up.

Anyone need a jack tool set? Only thing I could snag.

So here's the update, in case anyone needs parts:

aftermarket windshield in good condition
both front leather power seats still bolted in; DS controls are broken off; needs new covers
LR & RF doors intact, RF glass is shattered; locks and window mechs still there
Lift gate, with glass, and tailgate intact and undamaged, AFAIK
Rear sunroof drain tubes (for anyone who wants to reroute their front drains)
I have the sunroof, but the frame is still in place
headliner (needs to be cleaned, but otherwise undamaged
steering column w/ wheel & airbag
heater core
blower/damper controls
A/C condensor still there - I removed the dash so it wouldn't be much work to remove them
complete undamaged dash pad, w/ airbag, removed
lower rear console, no lid
misc interior trim, including door cards (they were ripped off, not removed with any care)
rear slider windows
fuel tank, with fill tube
body, behind the firewall
RR bumper cover (in good shape AFAIK); mid aluminum plate; tow hitch

Everything else is gone. The frame was hacked to pieces, along with the driveshaft (real pro job this was). The seatbelts were cut, but the all the clutches are still there, FWIW.

I failed to bring my Torx wrenches, so I missed out on the turn signal and wiper switches, which I need. If anyone gets to it before I get back, I'd appreciate these two items.

That was the LKQ crew that was on it while I was there. They cut out the seat belts to make a sling to pull the front end with the forklift after the sawzall job. 😥

Did you notice if the lift gate was rust free? It looks ok on the webpage, but the resolution is not very good. Thanks.
It looked to be in good shape. I couldn't see any rust or dents.

Still available?

little bit of cart before the horse here (would be looking to join OSNC once I have a FZJ80 :D )

Does anyone have an FZJ80 they are interested in selling in the 919 area?
My budget (12k) / other criteria are in this classifieds post:

Making space in the shop. Kobalt 3 drawer workbench needs a new home. Retails for $293 on inter webs. Asking less than 1/10th- say $25? Dusty, but drawers work, has light, side plugs, custom Harbor Freight plastic tool rack, and holes for those wiggly tool hangers. Free stickers. Located in SouthPark mall area. If you get this and flip it on FaceBook market place to make $5, I'll turn your bezel upside down and strip the screws on reassembly.

I'll take it

@crewzerdog If the windsheild frame is still available, I'll take it
I'll be at the Christmmas party

What about the mirrors and tailgate?

Mirrors are gone; tailgate is there and appeared to be in good shape - the inner trim panel had been removed but it's in the truck.

As I said, if you get there before me, I could use the turn signal and wiper switches. You'll need a Torx wrench to remove the cover. I would have done it when I was there, but I left the Torx at home; I think it's a T15 or T20. The nut will come off with a Crescent wench; if you're a hoss - I'm not - you can pull the steering wheel off by hand. I have had to resort to a gear puller in the past. The switch assemblies come off with the JIS screwdriver.
