Isn't that the same 40th that was posted on CL not long ago? The black painted lower rear portion of the front fenders are what gives it away. As I recall it had some rust & cost a whole lot less.
I've seen it before and it didn't have that story or $$. Did have the "original" high miles though. Maybe I'm misremembering.

Best quote from the 97's CL ad "has some rust issues but overall is solid."

For $4k there are probably better options that have lockers

Found it. Definetly the same one.
Only a few pages back, too.
CL add is still up. That's quite a flip, $16k profit.

Doh! Too bad I already wired him the ask price +convenience fee he asked for. Well, I didn't want him to change his mind and repost for $30k! What would I do then?

I love how he pulled the maintenance info from <100K services - prolly from toyota or carfax

Grats! :)

I kid, but I've bought a rust belt "survivor" before with a backstory and trusted the seller to not be a crook. Without the mud community, it could happen to any dumbass doing research on the LC "market" (full disclosure, I'm a dumbass).

Give it a shot! You may be a winner :) I'm not sure but I may have the record for the cheapest 80 that runs. Heather's truck, $750.00 sold TJM front bumper right away for $250.00 Heather got a brand new NAPA radiator for FREE because the previous owner just replaced it and it had a 3" split in the lower tank. She's been driving it for over two years.

The worst they can say is yes.......then just multiply that sale price by 10, and youll have it running. jk
