Generic tires. Hit or miss. I'd stay away. I've patched plenty of no name LT's and P's on the URE service roads that got popped just by gravel. Some were old and beat but just as many were fairly new.Thanks. I'll look into that.
The used tire guy I used to use for work said he could get me a set of new Generic All Trerrains 285's for $500 mounted balanced out the door.

Just a shot in the dark to check... my son has a 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited, 2WD, 378k (woo!). The car drives fine and actually is in very good condition in the interior, but exterior front is rough as he ran into a truck last summer and it knocked his front bumper up to where it looks REALLY bad, but radiator, etc is fine (and e's been driving it in that condition since). The engine light just came on for the oxygen sensor (Bank1/Sensor1), but that's no biggie. He doesn't want to spend the money to get the front end fixed, as he's had it for 6 years, just finished college and just started his career (and as such, wants a newer 4Runner) -- I'm sure any dealership would "give" him $500 for it, but wanted to run it by you all in case you had any suggestions for doing something different? I know on the Land Cruiser side, I purchase stuff from time to time on parted out LC's, but I don't know if the market for 4Runners is similar, if he should just sell it to a junkyard, or just "trade" it in -- the only reason I'm wavering on this one is because it drives so well, lol, I'd hate to think of something that is still so dependable going to the graveyard. Thoughts?

No way in giving to the dealer for $500. Sell it outright.

When I bought my GTI, the dealership offered me $500 for my car. I kept it and sold it on Craigslist for $3500.
My wife's Montero Sport had front end damage from two collisions. I used a prybar to pull the front bumper out and make it appear to line up. Compared to other Monteros, our bumper was pushed in 2 inches. After polishing the paint, the dealership still gave us $4800.
Market the 4Runner as a solid dependable vehicle with minor front end damage -OR- straighten it out as much as possible and don't mention the damage but take LOTS of photos.

When my brother and I were searching for a 4runner/Jeep XJ for his winter beater it seemed that those trucks would sell pretty quickly. There is definitely a market for those and I think someone would be happy to take it off your hands for a couple G's.

One sheet of plywood cost me that much, and I didnt even splurge for cabinet grade birch. I need your sources.
Agree could be done cheaper but those dont look half assed.....add 2 sets of 250lb slides, 80/20 extrusion, handles, hardware, and a guy not trying to lose money they dont seem too crazy.
I think I ended up with 300 in mine but may have included the $80 dollar air nailer in that figure but mine arent as nice as those and only have one set of slides which i got a deal on. They are bigger however covering 2nd and 3rd row seats.

1/2 inch Baltic birch is plenty strong enough for the drawers. the expensive part of mine was the drawer glides 36" 250LB wer like 65 bucks a set...still have an extra set
