Pighead had a thought...this being the 25th annual...do any of the first annual Rubithon T-shirts exist? Or the second annual? Point being, how about a group pic of attendees in old, prior, Rubithon Ts...might be a good calendar (or not) pic.
My shirts rotted away, still have my Toyota Mountain Mania hat, from when the name was changed to Rubithon.

How much extra gas do you 2f owners bring on the trip?

5 gallons and fill up Pollock pines.
I have the stock tank under the passenger front seat and head out 50 if I did not have at least a couple of gallons extra it would be to close.

Kevin, you can sip a few liters out of my long range tank if you get low. How many liters per 100 kilometers do you expect?

I get a lot more liters in my tank than gallons but they don't seem to get me down the road as far.

I can spot you a WAG bag too so don't forget the trap door longjohns.

I just wanted to thank Jerry Reffner, Kent Kaiser, Jeremy Peters, Mark Dunne (and son) and Brian Agee for helping me to make up all the oil spill kits and finish off the goodie bags that Joel Moranton started for us.

In them you will find all the swag from Joel's tremendous efforts, bailer bag (trash), oil spill kit, wag bag, and 2 biodegradable soaps. Plus my awesome wife is putting all the shirts in the bags as we speak to hand out to all the organized runs at the trail head.

I would like to thank the Trail Leaders for being willing to pack all this stuff for their individual runs to hand out before getting started. It really saves a ton of problems getting all the raffle prizes in.

For any on the Renegade runs, you will get yours when you come check in at the Springs.

To all, remember to come check in at the Springs once you get settled. I will have your meal tickets, grand prize raffle tickets, and dash plaques for you. Not to mention a lot of regular raffle tickets available for you!

See you all in a few days!

Whoo hooo!!

Thanks Jim.

I get about 250 km highway and about a day and half of off road per tank. I'll bring 15 gallons of extra fuel and top off at Pollock Pines so that should do me. But I like that there will be extra fuel if needed.

Looks like I may need the long johns at night next week. I'll be sure to bring them.

Thanks Jim.

If you need longjohns you are not drinking enough tequila! Right Jim? :D

I will have surplus fuel on board if someone is in a pinch they are welcome.

All packed save food & clothes.

Just a reminder, throw a tarp in the mix or a couple, just in case.
And don't forget to bring utensils to the meals.

Eric, what day do you plan to open registration at springs ?

This is shaping up to be an absolutely enjoyable week.

I'm planning to bring 10g extra, for fun and profit. $10/gallon out at the springs, right? $10/liter if you prefer the metric system. :flipoff2:

Where's a good place to park my tow rig around Pollock Pines? Or should I tow further up the road? (Flat towing, no trailer.)

You can leave it at Ice House Resort if you want, but it does mean that you have to detour back up the ICe House Road after the exit. Not a huge deal but an extra 45 minutes or so. Nice part is, they have a huge field and keep an eye on it and charge a nominal fee to park. I've left cars there twice.

Really getting stoked. Winch is back on the wagon, all systems tested out, fully lubed and as ready as I can be.

Eric-if you are following this, where do I get the packets for the participants? I'm headed up there Saturday night.

I believe Bruce Shoff posted up offering to park a few rigs. You may also want to ask John Pardi (pardion)

Ice house resort has fuel. It's about twenty miles closer to the trailhead than Pollock Pines. Premium prices though!

Is this the last gas stop before Loon?

A very good strategy is to fill up at the Chevron in Fresh Pond. It is on Hwy 50 very close to the turn to Ice House, and the fuel is competitively priced. Then drive up Ice House Road (also called Crystal Basin on the Highway sign) to Ice House Resort and top off tanks there with the insanely expensive gas they sell.

Ice House also sells beer, snacks, ice and a few other odds and ends. Nice folks.

Cam-Assuming you are coming up Tuesday evening, I recommend you drive all the way into Loon Lake that afternoon/evening. We'll have a group camping there and it makes for a better morning prior to the run.

Tech question: Do y'all have any decent canned beer out there?
