Just a friendly reminder to everyone who parks outside that this is the season where rodents will build a nest in your coolant valley (under in the intake manifold) and chew through your knock sensor harness. Has happened to many on here, including me.

To avoid the costly tear down, I suggest throwing a few moth balls in there monthly until the weather warms up. Cheap insurance.

I use this on several other locations as well:

Probably not helpful for folks that have to park outdoors, but we have always had problems with mice in our garage at home ($800 repair on the wiring in the Highlander once), and in our camp. I gave up trying to keep them out of the camp in the winter last year. I put 4 snap traps out in the garage this summer, was getting about one a day. Then this fall my wife bought a bunch of these, figured we'd give them a try (even though I assumed they were just a gimmick):

I have 3 of them in our 2-car garage, and 3 of them in our camp. Since then, not a single mouse in the traps, and I check on the camp almost weekly and no evidence of mice anywhere. Nothing.

I park outdoors. I park over a single Enoz mothball bag, changed out 2 or 3x a year. It holds up to all the elements for months at a time. Before, I had a problem with squirrels hanging around and under my LX. Now, they never go near. Very effective at keeping rodents away.

I recently got some peppermint oil bags and tied them around the wire loom that goes into the ECU and in front of the airbox on all of our vehicles. I also got those ultra sonic plug in deterrents for the garage, so I don't think any rodents will want to be near our cars!

Lol... I bought some of those peppermint bags at the local hardware store this spring for our camp. The mice thought they were delicious, they ate them. So much for that deterrent.

Someone told me once about using Irish Spring soap. Ya the mice ate those too.

Aux tank picked up this morning from the nice people at Cruiser Brothers.

So many awesome projects going on at their shop. Wish I had more time to explore.

Interesting product, but why is that man having relations with his SUV?

Interesting, kinda clever. My mom had a similar handle thing for helping her get in and out of the car, it dropped into the same latch, worked well but I wouldn't stand on it.

Still in the process of slowly moving my stuff to North Carolina. U-Haul car trailer blew a tire on the interstate. So I’ll be waiting for 90 minutes as a new tire shows up.

I was about to call and pester you for an update since you’ve been scarce around here. Glad you are on your way despite crummy you haul tires.

If you’re anywhere near Nashville and need help holler.
Thanks brother, but I’m in South Carolina right now. Only took 3.5 hours for Earl Dibbles Jr to show up and hand me a new tire. Nice guy though...

Get some cats
We've got half a dozen in the hay fields and pastures. My avatar established a kill zone in the garage and backyard. She doesn't hunt to eat but brings the dead ones into the garage and lays them out side by side. Strange but effective.

Last time I used a uhaul car trailer it blew a tire too. Luckily I was right outside Fresno and only had to wait an hour or so.

For about five minutes I couldn't figure out why every car that passed me was pointing and gesticulating. Eventually I saw the sparks in my rear view . . . I miss that Rx-7 I was towing.
