Can someone chime in on this:

I pulled this plaque off the rear third member when I was disassembling the axle.

It says:

92 GT ABA 2
1F26


Anyone know if this is original? Never seen one before, nor do I know the significance of the numbers and letters. I did go ahead and blast and cad plate just in case though. Thought that maybe it had some significance as to when the rear diff may have been serviced in the past, but I truly have no idea....

Axle tag? Representing Gear ratio, ring size, tooth count code, etc. Like G144 is the code for the factory 4.88s in the 8" diffs

That lettering looks like it was done by hand, certainly not by a machine.

Not OE. I've never seen one. The only ID tag I know of that covers differentials is the build tag in the engine bay. My guess would be its either a replacement 3rd or was overhauled and the tag was put on for the shop/builders warranty purposes.

Got around to mounting the front shackles.

Then @euclid came over yesterday and we installed a new gasket on the inspection cover, correctly installed the DUI distributor (we think....), tackled the rear drums (only to find that one of the cylinders is leaking and will need to be rebuilt or replaced), and we also did the oil galley plug modification.

Decided to blast and powdercoat the valve cover too.

Did it have that glass pak muffler on it before?

My 60 has a Flowmaster 40 series and I like the rumble.

Went back with that on the 40 but the glass pak is easier to package for sure.

It did. Welded a leak around the muffler (Greg called it a Cherrybomb), ground everything smooth and hit with the VHT.

Hard fuel lines ready for installation. Are they new? Nope. Lots of elbow grease, and a high temperature clearcoat. I think they turned out beautifully.
