I'm shocked Yall are stumped on the top mounted switch, Hint: It's only activated in 4th gear....give up....

4th gear indicater switch. Allows for vaccume advance at highway speeds. Some refer to it as the Emissions Switch

Only later models had one.

Can I get partial credit for at least being headed in the right direction. :hillbilly:

@offr0adlim0 , if my truck is desmogged and will have a Webber or Trollhole carb, do I even need it?

You're running a DUI correct? If so switch in unneeded.

May get an OE dizzy in the future though...

Feeling so good right now. Have put in a bunch of hours finishing up little details to prep for moving the axles under the frame and getting the engine off of the hoist.

Yesterday, I got the engine mounted to the frame, and this morning, at 4:00, I started aligning the axles, and getting the rest of the OME lift installed. Besides the front shackles, which turned out to be the wrong ones, the lift is on.

It's beautiful. It it finally starting to look like a truck again. I just want to sit in a chair and stare at it (with a cold beer of course).

Damn, that is a beautiful thing!!

Went looking back at the start of this thread, thought this was interesting.

Eventually, once we move and I get a bigger shop, Id like to do a frame off restoration. But that's for longer down the road.

I think that road took an abrupt turn in an amazing direction.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

There are 6 plugs there. I wish I knew the thread pitch and size, I'd get some brass or stainless inserts to go there if I did.
Looking awesome Andrew! Are your former air injection housings still in the head on the intake side? Are those the 6 cylinders I see sticking up?
