@fountainhead , I'll be ordering a new set from CCOT. There are a number of little do-dads that I still need to pick up. All of about $15. Haha.

Spent a bit of time coating all of the ends of these brackets with rubber coating. Looks great. Hung them from a baby gate to dry.

You got it.

So, you're telling me that the accelerator pedal was that color from the factory? Neither one of the 2 I have had were that color. Just sayin...

Yeah, @Bodean , that's right. At least a shade of cadmium.

Was snooping around, and spotted a 4-dr 40 at the PC'ers. Anyone know who this belongs to? @wngrog pointed out that it's not the same one we saw White Rhino building.

yes, that red 4 door is mine.

Andrew, you have a very nice build going on. Great work! Keep up the posts, everyone loves cruiser pics.

Thank you. Man, I can't wait to see yours finished. What I saw was beautiful. Extra wide too.

it fits on an FZJ80 frame so it is 7" wider than an 40.
I just read through you build, nice work. your color choice is nice.
Funny story: Back in the late 70's my second FJ40, a 1972, was needing paint. I chose the same color that you did. I had a gallon of paint mixed and found a guy that agreed to spray it. Well, he called me and said he was finished but he was not sure that the color turned out like I had told him. So my wife and I drove to his shop to pick it up. he had not rolled it out yet ( I don't think he wanted anyone to see it on his property). so when he rolled it out I almost lost my lunch! It was baby ^&*t brown, I mean to the point it was disgusting. I had no choice but to take it home. It took several weeks but the color changed to the correct olive brown color. I got a lot of laughs out of that paint job to begin with.

Keep up the great work.

Pulled apart the ignition/steering shaft/turn signal indicator. Cleaned up the indicator and harness with Simple Green, cut out a dirty splice job, soldered new section in, and covered with marine heat shrink, followed by 3M Super 33 tape.
