I've been busy glass bead blasting all my parts that will be getting replated with cadmium. I just love this new blast cabinet.
I also bought a vibratory tumbler from Harbor Freight. I've been loading it with glass beads and putting all my bolts, nuts, washers, and small parts in it (also to be cadmium plated). I have been very pleased with the results so far.

I've been thinking of upgrading my air compressor too.
I really like the specs on this Puma they are offering from Northern Tool:
Puma Belt-Drive Stationary Vertical Air Compressor 60-Gallon Vertical, 4.5 HP, 18 CFM, Model# PK6560VS | 60 - 79 Gallon Air Compressors| Northern Tool + Equipment
18 CFM!! And I'll be able to piggyback my 110v compressor on top of that; should give me around 23-25CFM total. I'll be able to run some monster stuff with that (i.e. pot blaster)
I'll need to get my electrical service upgraded first though. An electrician came out yesterday to give me a quote.

So I've been scheming....
I've been toying with the idea of buying a powder coating system, finding an old oven on Craigslist, and PC'ing everything I can fit inside of it.
My thinking is, is that once I have mastered the techniques, I can start to offer my services to the public as an extension of my small engine repair company. I'm thinking I can offer small scale sand blasting and PC'ing for customers. It'll probably make a bit of income, especially in the colder months when my engine business is cooling off, and I will obviously be able to use the tools to save money on the 40 restoration. Not to mention everything will be written off as a business expense...just thinking out loud here.
