I'll grind it down fairly flat, then after the whole body has been media blasted and primed, I'll come back over the area with a skim coat of Bobdo. Then I'll block it, and it'll HOPEFULLY be smooth as glass (fingers crossed).

I'm toying with the idea of painting it myself. Not sure if I will though; I'll certainly save a ton of money doing it myself.

Only non original panels (that I'm aware of) are quarters and sill/sill cover.

Uncut quarters are soooo much better looking than cut quarters. Just sayin'....:)

Nice work Andrew.

^^THIS^^

By the way, as far as you've jumped into this project, I believe you could paint it yourself. Paint has come a LONG way over the last few years, and provided you get the body straight, you could do a nice basecoat/clearcoat job. If you mess up any, you can always work it afterwards........

I say do it yourself....

The problem is though, is dust suppression. My garage has a dirt gravel floor; there is dust EVERYWHERE. I'd have to make a completely enclosed system if I decided to go for it. Talk about a PITA.

I have 3 zip-all zipper doors you can have if you decide to build it out of vinyl.

Emblems are fitted.

Lots of back yard painters get good results. Pick a day with no wind, no pollen, wet the dirt floor slightly to keep dust down, throw up some tarps and go for it
