Manual box?

I've got the box off my truck I think. You are welcome to it if I've still got it.

The driving enjoyment will double if you take this time to upgrade to mini truck power steering. You need the power steering gear from a '79 - '85 pickup or 4Runner, Saginaw pump, and gear and pump brackets from Georg.

I'm not gonna be wheeling this thing; just easy pavement driving on 33s. I had the PS on my last 40; I enjoyed it. Not sure I'll really need it this time around though.

Manual box?

Yeah, the manual box. Mine just started leaking oil. And yes, if yours is not leaking, I'd love it.

@wngrog : easy? From what I could gather, it looks like a huge PITA. More involved than I want to get...

I'll see if I can find it in the attic. Not even sure why I kept it. Mini truck P/S with 33's is the ticket in my opinion but oh well...

Thanks, Jeff.

Got some more work done this morning.

There is a kit. It's not a pain at all. There is a spring in there but it's straight forward.

The thing that makes 49s sloppy is the box gets loose and there are a ton of tie rid ends to get sloppy.

Tighten up the box replace TREs and it will steer great with a good alignment, steel caster shims from George and a 2.5" lift.

I know where a new OEM box is if you decide to keep manual steering.

^THIS^

Sounds pricey....who has it?

No, the one connected to the steering shaft with the Pittman arm.
