1980 FJ55, not sure any of those made it to the states, I know overseas had some 1980 pigs

wonder what the breakdown is between the 40 and 60 series

I looked for it, I’ve heard something like 300 1983 40’s were sold so I supposed the rest was 60’s. Haven’t tracked down the data yet, for 81-83

Ok found some missing years/data, here is the link: https://www.coolcruisers.com/howmanlancru.html wish it was divided so fj40 and fj60 were called out.
  • 1980.......3,058........FJ40 / FJ55
  • 1981.......2,027........FJ40 / FJ60
  • 1982.......3,088........FJ40 / FJ60
  • 1983.......4,805........FJ40 / FJ60
I’d like to find more detailed info also . Check out my data plate .. it don’t jive with the posted link info .

where is the 1000 units sold coming from?
I parted an early one years ago, there is 1 less
it had an extra long tie rod end on it, it was the only 60 I've seen that had one like that

Mine was from Japan . So far I’ve found the oil pressure sender doesn’t mount under the filter , it attached to the banjo bolt head on the oil cooler . There lights on the cluster are different locations , no 4x4 light , different turn signal stock , no choke light of the manual choke … bumpers are painted , that’s about all I can remember off the top of my head .

I documented the cluster differences thru the 60 year range, IIRCC there were atleast 3 versions
