Thanks Mike, but even though I'm single, I dont run around chasing girls. I got over that quite some time ago.

edit: that might be read the wrong way. Life goes by one day at a time, and when I meet the right girl (one that is not crazy, or half not crazy) then maybe.

Should be a decent turnout!
Im cooking brats and burgers on the grill.
Space is limited at out house, bring chairs to sit on!

See you all on Saturday.

You don't have plumbing at your house?

Lol
I got a pool and a pond, the pond would be good for you!

Tires work good for me too. Wouldn't want to kill any fish or leave a Baby Ruth in the pool.

Unfortunately I'm out. India-NO-PLACE gets to hold me until Sunday night.... ick. Did you know that an Arbys, a McDonalds, and two gas stations count as "food?" In Indiana it apparently does.

Crossing my fingers for the December meeting then...

Hang in there Dan! And here I had all these wild ideas about a pilot's life...a different stewardess (sorry, not PC, I meant to say flight attendant) in every town, etc.

Have a good weekend!

Hello to all -

I did promise a TLCA Board report since I won't be able to make it to the meeting this Saturday. We had our October phone call last Thursday, 10/29. I haven't posted up minutes of the August or September meetings because the Board Secretary is running behind on those, but they should be available soon.

The good news is that the revenue projections year-to-date are only off about 5% from the budgeted amounts, so things could be a lot worse. We should be able to maintain the organization with no major changes for a while, but I know we'd all like to see Toyota Trails get back to its "normal" state with more pages, more color pages, etc. It will all depend on how the membership numbers and revenue look over the next year or two.

We made a motion on a change in bylaws at this meeting, and it will be voted on at the next meeting. The bottom line is that we have had a problem with two meetings so far this year. We didn't have a quorum (not enough people attending the call to be able to vote on anything), therefore you can't really hold the meeting. Part of the problem is that we have had inactive chapters and/or chapters who haven't designated a chapter delegate to participate in the meetings and monitor the board representatives e-mail list. The change in bylaws should help correct the problem by weeding out some of the inactive chapters.

We also voted to change the last two meeting dates for the year. Normally, we meet on the last Thursday of the month, but for November that would have been Thanksgiving, and for December, it would have been New Year's Eve. So the new meeting dates are Thursday, November 19th and Thursday, December 17th. Unfortunately, I'm booked both of those days (I'm on the Board for the Sandia Labs Credit Union and we have our meetings on the 3rd Thursday). Given the above issue with quorums, it's important that we participate on the call. Ron Lovato is the HDC alternate delegate, and I sent him an e-mail to see if he's able to participate. I haven't heard back from him yet. If Ron can't do it, I may need to ask Shawn.

Speaking of the HDC delegate role, I mentioned at a meeting within the last few months that I've been the delegate for a couple years now and I'm ready to let someone else have a turn. Given that Ron is currently the alternate, he would be the likely choice if he's interested. If not, I'd really appreciate it if someone would give it a try. It is pretty interesting, but I'm just feeling as though I'm stretched a bit thin lately. I will plan to continue through December and plan on stepping down at the end of the year.

If you have any questions on any of this, feel free to post up a note or send a PM. Sorry again to miss the November HDC meeting, but I will do all I can to be at the December meeting. Along those lines, I would vote for a December 5 or 6 meeting (assuming we hold it that first weekend of the month), but I would not be able to make a meeting on Friday, December 4th.

Have fun and see you soon -
Evan

Thanks again to Daisy and Christi for hosting the meeting!
