I really like it. Cleaner and more efficient lines than the current 200. The rear is a huge improvement by slimming down the huge chunky bumper and having an upswept departure angle.

“Fingerprint authentication” eh?

GR Sport has Next Gen KDSS (interested your learn what’s different), front and rear diff locks (awesome), TRD Pro style grille, sounds promising. Fingerprint authentication on most trims, not sure how I feel about that. It looks best IMHO in black because it hides the awful flat fender lines.

This picture was already posted but still cool to see:

Number 4 is front diff lock
Number 7 is rear diff lock
I'm anxious to see the GR-S version. It should have the best front/rear bumper for approach/departure angle.

I still say that fender line has a purpose and may be removed with flares on the GR-S with 35's :flipoff2:
I really do hope they do well and actually think it's a good thing they are pausing in the US. You would think they are watching the market and bringing the US something that is better suited for what people are asking for.

when do you think we will know bout the USA?

Are there any leaks on timing of the new LX?

Every trim seems to have their own front and rear bumper design according to leaked spec sheet. This one looks the cleanest to me.
I'd buy that if it comes to the States forsure, bullbar, 35's, sliders, skids etc etc..

def appears to have a way better departure angle then the 200, yep I'd rock that thing forsure if it comes Stateside!

The lower trims indeed seems to have improved angles. The higher trims is a different story. Middle eastern taste ruined the land cruisers angles. The trend in gulf region is more geared toward very sporty looking SUV's like range rover sport or velar. Toyota sells land cruiser there like hot cakes so unfortunately they cater to their taste.

The more I look at it, the more I hate it. The large, vertically flat fenders are simply bizarre looking. Guess I'm in the minority on this one.

The above profile view of the black cruiser... the rear end gives off Infiniti QX80 vibes, the front end looks like it was removed straight from an Escalade.

I need to see one of these with proper wheels/tires.

This would explain the elimination of the rear lift gate. As the butt of the cruiser gets higher, a lift gate would get too high for comfort

The low hanging front bumper that's the same height as the low hanging running boards gives the LC300 a wonky proportion. It looks narrow and tall like the Lexus GX. Let's hope it looks better in person.
Looks like the squared off wheel arches of the GM SUVs too... Fugly proportions to be sure @Jurwin

At first glance, when viewed from the front, the tall grill gives the impression that approach angle is sacrificed. When viewed from the side the leading edge appears to be tucked in closer to the front axle line. I’m curious to see what the net result is. I’ll be surprised if it’s a net loss.

I still think Toyota was full of it and will bring it back to the USA.

They sell every one of them they send here, why not??

Is this even a Land Cruiser anymore if it doesn’t have a split tailgate?? It‘s baffling to me they would even consider removing that feature. I want to defend Toyota and say it was a supply constraint or that they intend to add it back in a later model year, but seeing as it takes 5 years to design and develop a Land Cruiser, this decision had to be an intentional and calculated measure in cost cutting.

No! Definitely no longer a Land Cruiser as the split tailgate is the sole feature that makes it genuine.

The 3.5 will deliver better mileage, but I don't think by all that much. Couple MPG maybe. Regular drivers will be heavy into the boost.

Vastly inferior to the 5.7; you can't argue with displacement or especially eight cylinders.
