. O.K. Here goes nothing---You guys talk me into this, I'm on the edge--- I have been trying to get my friend Taterhead to bring his rig on this ride(Rodger should be familiar), anyway his Grandfather is very sick, and he has told me to take his rig and go! We are good friends and this Rig started out as my old 77 Mustard Cruiser, that he beat me out of when I needed money to finance two Teenage Boys thru their Driving years (16ys Male X2 Numerous Accidents--to current and still $$$Paying, while they pursue higher edUmaCation:doh:) Very well built locked up with an Atlas and Smallblock V-8 , but never wheeled hard. I think I know the anwser but what do you guys think, and can you guys help keep me out of trouble:grinpimp:. .

Bring it, we are doing moderate trails and that truck should not have any issues if it is built as advertised.

So….if we can't make the 10am departure we are on our own?

I don't think there is any worries about this group departing exactly at 10 a.m. there will be a good window of time.

it will be after 5pm. I know first hand the tardiness of TLCA departures, but I doubt it would be that late.

Probably correct.

Doug do you have any suggestions as to where we should go? A good place to camp that would be easy for you to find?

I always like to camp up high but there is always the eternal flame. Even though you may have been joking, you are probably more right than you know. It's hard to follow an exact route given the size and options. I don't want to force you guys to stick to a schedule, but I thought if you had a rough plan I could find you.

Todd S is actually the trail leader for this ride, not sure what he has planned. But I think he plans to head north from where we were last time.

The map shows the trail in and out of the eternal flame as red ( difficult) how is it actually ?

It's an extremely short distance from the hwy. it's standard 4x4 stuff. Only thing is that you cross the river 3 times and they can be pretty deep depending on water flow but overall way less of a challenge than the bigger Cove water crossings.

I might run a bit late. It is a 4hr drive from ATL. Can we push the start time a bit?

3 for us!, we will be right behind you! No in frint of you¡

We could give you the grid and you can make your best guess... Kind of like me and :princess: getting out of the cove last year!

Tried to send the last post 3 days ago from my computer. That's why I don't post much.

I got no problem hunting for you guys. It would be a cool game. I just need to know the general area.

Is there cell service out there? You could holler at one of us to see where we went.

Well the truck's all packed and ready to go. Really looking forward to this ride, as I've been swamped with the end of the year rush at the hospital. As far as the route I'll try and upload a screen grab of the route I'd like to try. But basically I'd like to start on the north end and work our way back down toward Windrock. There may be some backtracking involved, but hopefully we'll be able to avoid that. I'll try and get that screen grab up later tonight. See y'all Friday morning!

Y'all have a fun New Years ride! Sounds like it's gonna be a great time , had fun last time in that neck of the woods, lots out there. Roger, thx for cooking for Jason, he was concerned when you thought you were out for surgery!!

Cheers,

Joel
