Plans are set for the STLCA New years ride. Jan 3-5. We are going to have 2 groups this year.

Those wishing to camp in the cove (Group 1) will meetup at a TBD location Friday morning, wheel and camp in the cove Friday night, and make their way to Coalmont Saturday.

Group 2 will meet at Coalmont Saturday morning, and wheel the park during the day.

Both groups will come together to camp in the group camping area at Coalmont Saturday night.

Plenty of routes to enter. I think we're probably in as well, but I need to confirm calendar with Christy.

I'm about 90% in for Group 2, I have a power steering leak I need to address before then.
I'd consider joining Group 1 but I have no experience on any of these trails so not sure what the trip from the Cove to Coalmont entails.
I'll have a bunch of questions on Tuesday night for anyone who has done/will be going on this trip.

Updated Info:

Join us for our New Year's ride at Coalmont. Park pass purchase required.

Returning this year is a camping in the cove option. Those wishing to camp in the cove (Group 1) will meetup at a THE COURTHOUSE SQUARE IN JASPER TN Friday morning 9AM CT, wheel and camp in the cove Friday night, and make their way to Coalmont Saturday.

Group 2 will meet at Coalmont Saturday morning 10 AM, and wheel the park during the day.

Both groups will come together to camp in the group camping area at Coalmont Saturday night.

Optional Bonus: many of our friends from Heart of the South cruisers will be joining us for this ride. They have invited us to participate in their annual tradition of a dirty Santa beer exchange. Bring a six pack of wrapped craft beer of your choice to participate in the exchange on Saturday evening.

Not sure if we will make it yet, and since I’m a first timer is there a place to park tow rigs? We would be in Group 1 but probably leave out early to mid day Saturday. Planning on towing the pig and son driving the built Lexus.

You should be able to leave a tow rig at the courthouse...at least we have in years past. @radioridge?

As far as leaving early, the lower group is an expedition style ride, which starts in Jasper, TN and ends up in Coalmont, TN, so there would be some highway to return/you'd have to find an exit solo unless someone else would be leaving early as well. Most likely we'd make it to Coalmont sometime Saturday PM.

If you are planning to attend the New Year's Ride and not on Facebook, comment in this thread and let us know if you are planning for Group 1 or Group 2. Just trying to get a rough head count.

Stars seem to be aligning for Group 1 but I'll jump into Group 2 if the scheduling doesn't pan out.
