In the STLCA tradition we will be holding a NewYears ride to start the year out right. We will be doing an expedition style ride in the North Cumberland WMA to explore more trails for the GSMTR expedition ride. We will meet Friday Jan. 3rd at 10AM EDT at the mini mart on the west side of I-75 exit 134( Caryville,TN). For those that need to trailer there is a large parking area at the mini mart and people routinely leave tow rigs.

I cross posted on the GA cruisers thread. Looks like it could be a lot of fun. I am interested, but lets see how things play out over the holidays....

Well I'm out, hip surgery has been moved up to Dec. 23. This is a good thing as I have to recover from it and have a knee done and recover before GSMTR.

good luck on the surgery Roger....I guess that will be your big Christmas present....well I know its to help so, have fun.

I'm doing some more mods on the truck...if we get that done in time I'll show up, but that looks unlikley that we will complete in time.

Is this ride still planned I assume even though Roger will be out for brain surgery :)

Roger, Sorry to hear that. Make your recoveries complete and quick.

Don't think I'll be able to make this trip :(

I am still interested, some of the guys on GA cruisers might be as well in this run as I would presume the trails will be mostly moderate to some difficult sections.. Some of the guys are renting a cabin at the mountain, but they are going to run the hard core trails at the park.

Is this still going to Royal Blue? I think GA will be at Windrock, could try a joint venture to get a few more trucks in the mix. I am not sure if I am in or out, tenative would be a good way to put it today.

Unless they go up Sand Mines, pretty much all of Royal blue is moderate to easy, but there is a lot of ground to cover. Unfortunately the Oliver Springs entrance to Windrock is a fer piece from Royal Blue. In my opinion you do one or the other.
