I didnt get tonlook much when it was flexed because the rain atarted comig down.

I'll let James speak up for specifics but IIRC it has stock lower rear control arms and lengthened rear uppers. Pointing the pinion at tcase so double cardan used. The rear five link also had extended panhard to center axle. Only downside with that much lift or axle twist rather the coil buckets Were not moved around housing but instead wedge fabbed on top to match new angle.

Up from he has stock radius arms on frame side drop brackets or caster. It drove pretty well. Had a lil wander under hard breaking. Dc shaft up front and vibe free under 50 mph

yeah the wander I suspect has a lot to do with the brakes needing some attention. As far as stability and road habits, I ran this thing to 80 mph and had no issues, no vibrations. It drives on the road just fine, I let my 16 year old drive it :). Like Rice said, the 1" thick swaybars probably have something to do with it..

We can take a closer look at it tomorrow. I'm suspecting we are going to find there is so much lift the added distance to the center of the earth is causing RGE ... Reduced gravitational effects ... Thus, no flex. :flipoff2:

Eureka! That has to be it!

Thanks go out to Rice for fixing the center diff lock actuator switch. And to Jason for unknowingly donating the center diff lock actuator switch from his transfer case. :) I'll get you a new one, if you wanna send me a link I'll get it ordered.

Removed the rear mudflaps and hit the same bump. Made a big difference clearance wise.

Apparently, BFGoodrich discontinued these tires, but Discount tire shows them in-stock. So I've waited 7 days for a discontinued tire...

PISSED...

Would have been nice to be told they weren't in the mail...

Most welcome, dude. Glad your fix was an easy one (i.e. not many $$).

Sorry I neglected to track down the indicator light that tells you the center diff is locked. The wiring for that is not difficult and it would be a nice thing to have working so there is no more guessing with regard to locked, not locked. Hold off on ordering or tracking down replacement part for Jason because you may need two switches rather than just one.

Soooo, I got to drive Big "Bring me another Biscuit" Boom Boom Bertha today. She's one Bump steer'n, road wander'n hunka, hunka woman.

Look forward to seeing Ms. Boom Boom going Vroom Vroom on the trail.

well this makes me miss my 80..... about an inch taller than I was at my tallest with 2 inch spacers 6 inch coils and 39's.

it's also the best color out there for an 80.

It's common for 80s like this to lift a tire on the rear its the weakness of the 80 set up. They are still incredibly stable even when on 3 wheels.... only once did I ever feel like I was going to tip ever.

Nice 80, enjoy it. got to be one of the biggest out there. Only one bigger that comes to mind would be the extreme land cruiser guy in SoCal

New tire and wheel came in. 40x13.5 Yokohama Geolander versus the 40x14.5 km2s that they discontinued... It'll have to do, I guess.

Is that a spare?

Especially with full time 4wd, I wouldn't drive any significant distance on a spare that's a different size.

Yep. It's a spare. Didn't have a choice. They literally don't make the same size tire anymore. If I break one, I'll likely have to buy a new set.

It should not be too much of an issue as they will be very close to the same diameter / revs per mile.

If one tire is 39 and the other 40" that comes to only about 16 revolutions per mile difference between front and rear diff. I wouldn't want a road trip with it like that but would get him home without too much heat in the VC.

So yep ... The first tire you cut is going to be very expensive if it means buying 3 more geolanders and having an incomplete set of 40"s you can't sell.

I'd keep a watchful eye out for a matching km2 in the meantime - even used. Then, you can rotate it in and hopefully won't have a puncture or other failure and still have a new Yoka to at the end, leaving you to buy 3 more and have a worn out Km2 as your spare.

Aren't those Geolanders directional?

BTW, what wheels are those?

They sure are directional. Wheels are ATX Mojave forged Teflon coated.

No match for the URE dust bowl...

Hahaha. No doubt. I should be frying eggs on them.
