Thanks Chris. It's been a fun ride... in the slow lane...

Gary, the booster is for '77 toy pickup and the master is for an '85 4Runner (Disc/Drum). I have a good 1/16" clearance between the booster and clutch master.

Another update. I've had the body back off for a few weeks. Slow going as always.
I need some opinions. As you'll see in the photos below, I have my exhaust installed. It's not yet welded up. I tried putting the muffler under the driver, but it was just to close to the transfer. I ended up putting it across the back right behind the upper shock crossmember. As far as I can tell, there should be no interference with the shocks or the suspension. The tailpipe will be exiting to the right rear behind the tire. Think this will be OK?

Here is the upper mount for my antiwrap bar. I'm building the bar out of 2"dia x 1/4"wall DOM. It's going to be a heavy beast.

My rear springs (FJ55) will be here late next week. Once installed, I'll be able to get measurements to complete the bar, and start working on installing and routing the parking brake.

That's it for now. Good luck to those going out to chase those bucks tomorrow. Be safe!

What did you do with your motor mounts in the end? I am installing mine now and they don't line up very well....yet when I measure an old 2f they seem to be very close.

Maybe I just need to stretch my frame apart too....had to do some straightening of my frame as it was all twisted and pushed. (was a snow plow truck that must have hit a few things while plowing)

I am still looking for a SM465 to put in....behind my 3FE. I have my frame all painted and FJ62 axles underneath about like yours is. My body will be getting sandblasted Tuesday! Then I will see how much I have to do....

I just elongated the holes in the frame mounts.

I must not have measured well when I rebuilt the underside of the tub because I had to do the same thing with most of the body mount holes on the frame too.

Sounds like you're going to have a nice ride when you get it all done...

Got a little done today. After recovering from a couple of broken ribs (one was displaced) and then catching my hand in a lathe, it feels good to be working on it again.

Installed radiator and all hoses, and also got the saginaw plumbing done. Have a power steering cooler to add as well.

Also got all of my 4X4 Labs high steer parts. Cut-n-turn will be done in the next week or two and I'll install the steering then.

Also got the exhaust welded up and the lower portion of the anti-wrap bar is done. As soon as I get that done, I'll drop the tub back on the frame. It's getting closer. I can feel it..

I'm also still working on the front and rear bumpers. Will post some picks when I make a little more headway.

Yep. Spring is what I'm aiming for...

Looking good Bill, hope to hit some trails with you this year.

What color are you painting it? What size tires?
CAZ

Mustard yellow and 35, 36 or 37" tires on 15" beadlocks. Once I set the body back on, I'll lean some tires against it and see what fits best. I'm kind of leaning towards the 35's, but if they look too small, I'll go bigger. 12.5 wide bias ply and BB's for balance.

Looking good Bill, hope to hit some trails with you this year.
Same here. It's been awhile.

Bill's 40

Looks great, Bill. All your hard work and effort will be worth it. Hope to see you a the Coal Mine this year- git 'er done!!! Gary S

Looks good Bill - you can't go wrong with mustard.

Thanks all! I ordered a Warn M8000 with free shipping and a free Wireless Remote from GoWarn.com yesterday. Not quite as big as I wanted to go, but $540 fit well in my dwindling budget...HaHa.. I said budget.

I'll have to post some new picts of mine now too! Looking good! show me a picture of your anti-wrap bar....I still have to do mine.

I need to do the brakes and brake lines next.

Oh what a feeling! Progress!

I'll take some pics after work tomorrow.

I have to do my brake lines too. Have to figure out the 62 parking brake also. At least I have all the components to get it done.

FYI... I was just notified they're on back order for the next 2-4 weeks... Guess I can re-think my choice now.

If you can cancel your winch order from GoWarn.com check this out at 4Wheelparts. Saw it on another board and it appears to work when you checkout.

Will try it out. Thanks JT!

Craig,
Here are some pics of the anti-wrap bar.

aw.JPG

Above is the lower bar. Need to get my angle and notch the top bar. That's going to be a chore. Tubing is 2" x 1/4" DOM. A real :censor: to work with. It will be strong enough to take a beating though.

aw1.JPG

As you can see, the mount on the axle isn't welded in yet (just tacked). I want to pull the 3rd out before I weld everything up. I will also be boxing it in an wrapping a piece of plate down the back side a part way around the axle for some added strength.

aw2.JPG

Here's the pivot point. The ends are rated well over 80,000 lbs and they will allow a lot of flex (side to side) without binding. The shackles are temporary 1/4" and will be replaced with 1/2" before I finish. I may shorten them up an inch or so too. May be overkill, but so what.

aw3.JPG

As it sits now, the lower end of the shackle is still above the frame rails, so it should be OK from trail obstacles.

aw4.JPG

Again.. still need to fully weld and add some gussets.

aw5.JPG

The inside edge took a bit of trimming to get it to sit square. It would have been easier to move the whole assy towards the drivers side, but I wanted to center it as much as possible.

I'll take some more pics once I get the top tube attached.
