Yes I know I can search this to death sorry, but I'm looking for a better shock option than the ome that I have. I am assuming I have heavy ome springs given my right height and the amount of weight my rig has. Front/rear bumpers, winch, sliders, roof rack etc. I'm thinking about fox shocks valved for long wash board roads. Any personal opinions or real world advice would be greatly appreciated

Just installed slee / ads remote res shocks. Hasn't left the garage yet but they sure are Purdy:)

Look at the Slee shocks. You can discuss with them, get the proper valving up front.
Valving is a huge part of what's going to make them perform correctly, so don't underestimate getting proper valving out of the box.

Of all the high grade shocks, these interest me the most. I would have gone this route if they were available when I was doing my suspension.
I still might...

I have the TJM 9 way adjustables. Bought 'em off a mud member but haven't installed yet.

Love my Slee's but depending on your use you might want to go with some custom valving..... Icon's and King both have adjsuters which is intriguing as well.........

my feedback on the Slee's is that they are more "sporty" and balanced...... you for sure feel in control but they dont isolate the smaller creases etc.... absorb yes but you are aware of them.......

it reminds me of KW coilovers in my Audi..... planted and very much in control with just a bit more awareness of road surface.....

the build quality is excellent and the install with the res on the front spring hats very clever....

PM me if you want any more info.

Slee is always great to work with - but I also loved Dylan at Icon's stuf and service when it was Donahoe and on my 4Runner.... King and Radflo both are in the hunt jsut really comes down to service IMHO....

cheers

Cant go wrong with Bilsteins

I am running the Ironman Foamcell shocks. Bought the truck from a friend with them alreaady on so I don't really have a comparison but they do ride nice even with the ARB front with winch, the 4x4Labs rear, sliders, lift and heavy ass ARB full roof rack. I think he had the OME's on it before these and he said it rides better with the foam cell.

x 2. I have an ARB on the front with an Ironman lift using these shocks. I am very pleased with them.

I have Icon and have been happy on road and off road even when I have the tent strapped to the top and loaded with gear or empty.

Sounds like the adjustable ones are best.
Besides Ranch RS9000, TJM as read what others out there have adjustability?

Very happy with the KING w/ res!! service is next to none!

Metal-Tech has Icon's 20% off as well.........

wow thanks guys! got some reading to do now haha.

check in the vendor classified section I think to be sure but I think it's Icon20

Radflo offers shocks for the 80 series in both 2.0 and 2.5 versions.

Far and above the best customer service in the shock, or any, industry as far as I'm concerned.

Story, to validate the claim....

Four or five years ago, had few issues with a competing brand that required front coilovers return to CA to service (by fault of my own in another component product selection) but had nothing to run in the interim.

Posted up a request to buy or borrow specific coil overs for a month long period, Glenn messaging with an offer of a rebuilt pair for the duration of time the others were in CA at his competitor.

Ran 'em, bought 'em, and sold the others I had intended to have repaired.

When the time came to "upgrade" to a long travel front end, Glenn spent a lot of time discussing, built to specs I gave, attentive, but informative to what I "thought" I needed.

Well, I had an issue with coil rate, after installing on a Saturday, so emailed late in the evening, thinking it'd be Monday before I heard back.

Hour later, my phone rings and it's Glenn calling from SEMA to discuss and figure out the fix.

I was floored.

Just a dumbass redneck in BFE that DOESN'T have a $250k race truck, which seemed to be what it took to get decent response from the previous shock brand ran, and getting called on a Saturday from SEMA by the dood with his name on the shock.

Problem solved in short order, again, my doing, and due to those two instances, have outfitted three other Cruisers with Radflo's, have a set for the '76 Pig that UPS just dropped, and about to order a set for the most recent 80 acquisition.

(I swear, nothing funky on this one, Glenn. Easy 80 that'll pull off the shelf.)

The '76 Pig was 9-10 months of discussions (off and on) which received the same attention as a U4 build.....and for a series that may never generate another dollar of revenue.

My two cents.

Having ran personally ran Radflos, Kings, (and cheap chit, too) having installed SAWs and numerous Icon shocks and coil overs, there's attributes of all that set each apart from the others.

In my opinion, what sets Radflo apart is dedication to customer service and the pride inherent to every box that leaves with "Radflo" emblazoned upon.

Regardless if your on the starting line to the Baja, KOH, or stuck in traffic at the mall (be it a seventeen year old 80 or forty year old Pig, mind you) there seems to be no bounds for attentiveness and degree of customer service and satisfaction.

I researched high end options Slee/King/Icon/RadFlow earlier in the year and decided on the Slee's personally, then something came up and my $2K had to go somewhere else for now. When I do pull the trigger it will be Slee's if I can swing it. On a more affordable option I liked the Fox 2.0 remotes for the money.
