The highest I seen was 41.2A. Contrary to popular belief it does have a 10 gauge wire already on it. I had some 10 gauge I was going to replace it with and seen it was the same so I left it alone. I could have made the wire longer but would rather have the longer air line. I am going to set it up with Deans connector at the grill. When it is done it is HOT!!!!

Make sure the connector is rated for enough amps. 40A is outside of most connectors rating.

Deans makes different connectors and 50A is one of them.
The quick release hose fitting burned the crap out of my hand when I first grabbed it. The wire was warm to the touch also and yes the pump (piston casing) was hot.

Compressing air causes heat, that is normal. To know if it is a problem, first you have to define "hot". IIRC 120F can burn you, I wouldn't be worried about a compressor running 180F, so it feels hot is

I would have some interest in adding to the order, depending on when it happens.
I used these, I can't find specs on them with a quick search, but they don't get warm at all. I put a set on the alligator clips as well so I can use the rig in other trucks. Deans - Plugs
once you know the amp draw, look up ohms law, will give equation to figure wire. i have a general cheat sheet around here somewhere.

another option to attach a safe wire, and make it easily mobil, is to buy some cheap jumper cables. cut one end off and connect to the device. two people could go in together and cut in half. the cable will carry any load that lil compressor will pull, and makes for easy use.

Be careful if you go this route some cables are as small as 12ga.
