Welcome,

Great looking rig! Everyone on here is awesome to deal with.

Looks great!

I am in SF Bay Area Peninsula. Scat- I actually had my younger brother look at your white GX when it was for sale. The owner(Anna) lost the pink slip
so I did not want to deal with it registering it here in NorCal so I passed. I wanted a white one with no Nav. You turned that into a nice looking machine.

Haha thats hilarious! Now that I think of it, she told me she had someone who was interested in Norcal, never figured it'd be another mud member but ya glad it worked out for both of us, Im really enjoying the truck!

Anna was actually really sad about selling it, made me take a picture of her in front of it and everything, even said "if you ever end up selling it in a few years, call me." I didn't want to break her heart and tell her that her soccer mom grocery getter was about to be transformed haha

Looks great. I like the "lifted-with-OEM-running-boards" look...doable on 32's, I guess.

Welcome!

Brian,I sent your very detailed and helpful build post to my mechanic and asked him to install the lift per your instructions. So thank you
The gx is my daily driver now so will keep the running boards till I buy sliders. I just replaced today the duratracs for Cooper ATP since it was too noisy for my taste for a daily driver. The handling and braking also suffered. I bought a rear spoiler thru Amazon and it is not a direct fit to the existing holes.
I installed a turbo muffler and did the deckplate mod on the air filter. I have a GROM bt3 and will just add an amp with a subwoofer on the Levinson system. I also bought a 2000 lx470 recently so need to allocate some funds to do some mods on that. So that is it for now and will just enjoy and hook up with the NorCal Landcruiser and Montero group that I used to hangout with. I wish I can meet the local 120 group here too.

the GX lost its Mojo when the Duratracs was switched to Coopers. It just does not look right anymore. The truck gained its fun to drive factor though. What a difference an agressive sidewall can improve the aesthetics of a truck or SUV. Oh well you cant have it all

Nice looking.

I'm starting to shop for a GX and wondering about deleting the spoiler. I like the spoiler-less look. Is it the case that yours originally had one but it was removed before you bought it? Do you want to add it back for aesthetic or performance reasons?

It had a spoiler but the previous owner damaged it when she had it car washed. I like the spoiler look so I bought one on line but the holes did not line up with the stock ones so new holes need to be drilled. Not sure if I want to do that so will look for a factory spoiler

Thanks for the reply. Would you mind showing pics and describing how the mounting holes are filled with the spoiler removed? Perhaps a pic of the whole tailgate to see the overall look and closeups of the holes? Sorry to hijack your thread ... I've been googling and haven't found good pics of a tailgate with spoiler removed.

Mine doesn't have a spoiler and at first I wanted one, but spoilerless has grown on me. As far as deleting a spoiler, I know they're bolted to the body so if you'll have to figure something out to keep water out of the truck.

In snow country the spoiler is nice because it usually keeps snow off the back window and the windshield wiper.

Very nice overall @nikramos - I hear ya on the sidewall/look, but some times function is far more important than form. :)
