Did a quicky search, gots nuttn.

Bout to buy the place I've been living these many years, thinking to wrap a garage build into the mortage (in for a penny...)

In a realistic world, what would you look for/how would you design a Cruiser loving garage + 1 w/project space?

Property wise, I'm thinking South facing exposure, would like a loft for toy storage, though a fully plumbed building w/MIL quarters wouldn't hurt my feelings (just my budget, and the tentative goodwill of my ol coot of a neighbor).

So, you dreamers, dream for me, preferably in a visual form!

If you have any cool/cold temps, put in radiant floor heat, solar powered. Wish I would have done so myself. Oh well, losing this house and shop space, divorce BS. Will definately do radiant in next. Nice warm floor to pass out on drunk working on the underside.

Check your local Zoning issues before you get your plans going.

Where I live, the biggest you can go is 2,499 sq ft unless you install a stand alone fire suppression system. Stand alone meaning, minimum 4,000 gallon water supply, non electric engine and pump to deliver the water through the overhead sprinkler system, etc.

I went with a 40x60. It does not really get cold enough here to warrant the in ground heating but if I still lived in Iowa, I would strongly consider it.

If I were to d it over again, I would have Solar Panels installed on top of my shop. They would have helped greatly reduce the electric bill that I generate while puttering around in the shop.
