Over the holidays I headed to northern California where I spent some time in my brother's fab and welding shop doing some brotherly bonding.

Build specs:

Winch box built of of 1/4" plate, shackle mounts built out of 3/8"plate directly to the frame and doubled up on the front side. Wings are 3/16" plate. Fog lights are for an '05-11 Tacoma I got off of Ebay. I recessed the fairlead into the bumper just to be different. Tube is 1.75" .187.

Sliders are 3/16" 2" square stock and .187 1.75" DOM.

Rear bumper is 1/4" plate across the center portion around the receiver and braced by 3/16" 2" square stock. Wings are 3/16" plate and internally gusseted. Swing-out has a 3500 lb spindle and will accommodate a true 37" tire

Now for the pics, enjoy :flipoff2:

WOW awesome work! I'm liking that rear bumper especially:clap:

Nice work! your bro must have one heck of a shop to do that much fab work " over the holidays ".

Thanks for sharing!

Steve

Excellent work!

Nice lines on both bumpers. Like how the front bumper ucks in tight.. How is the winch access??
How is the receiver reinforced??

Thanks you all for the kind words.

Winch access is pretty good. I don't have a problem reaching the free-spin lever, and that's what's important. For the receiver it's braced and gusseted around it with 1/4" plate and welded to another piece of 3/16" 2" square stock to brace where the cross member was removed. Worse case I can always throw the stock receiver underneath it if need to, (towing rented equipment, etc).

Dude, wtf. Guys like you that can just whip up an amazing, well thought out front and rear bumper piss me off. This is my round about way of complimenting your skills and final product, although it may not seem like it. Well done!

Sincerely,
Jealousy

I'd buy that rear if you made another :)

Me too, especially if you made it with a pintle hook mount.

Pics would be nice  very nice setup overall

Wow :o That's impressive!

:bounce2::bounce2:Put me down for a rear and a set of sliders....... Seriously, let me know if you want to do a couple more.

I would be interested in one of those front bumpers if he ever made any more.. Looks great!

Thanks for all support.

I'm trying to convince my brother to sell a DIY front/rear bumper kit like 4x4Labs does. Only problem is that he doesn't have an 80 and I live 10 hours away from him. He just opened his own shop a few months ago after leaving "his previous job. He was their main designer and fabricator but the owner was, well not paying him enough for the credit due...

In any case, here's his card if any of you are seriously interested in some work and are in the northern Cali area. Cheers.
