Had the Hilux with turbo 4, but the Land Cruisers only came in 6, I think only the Australians can get the 8's

Thanks .. same here we can get the new front with the 1HZ ( 4.2 6 in line .. )

Aussies and NZ are really lucky guys ..

HOLA! Well folks, I did it! Back into the land of the cruiser!
Just drove my 1998 BJ74 back to the island this evening!
She needs a bit of work to get things in shape, but all in all I’m rather exited to be getting back into the swing of things!

Hi all this is my new BJ70 I hope to glean some good info from this site, and hopefully give some back.

I live in Australia and since I was in high school I wanted a shorty.

This is it when I bought it 8 weeks ago

I am just about to fit some reduction gearing to the transfer.
Because I have a NA 3B-ii with 35's I needed some help.
Marks 4WD do a 55% low reduction and 8% high underdrive gear set for the transfer hear in Aus, so I will let you all know how it goes.

Nice 1st car you got there. Maybe a turbo would help with a bit more power and then do the gear swap later;)

Gear reduction is done.

8% underdrive almost makes the speedo read correctly. Heaps better on the road now.

before I was doing 2000 rpm at 100km/h now about 2200 which suits the motor better.

I am about to fit a turbo. But I have been suprised at the performance of the 3bII. My old BJ42 with just a 3b struggled to pull 110km/h on the flat. This 3bII easily pulls 140km/h on a flat freeway

I have ordered a custom tuned length manifold from a local race engineer to suit a garret T26 turbo ( I think). I just have to sort out the turbo's final position. He welds, xrays and destresses the manifold and ceramic coats it. My mate just had one made for his Nissan 4.2 diesel and it looks awesome. He will start mine soon.

I am going to run a suburu air to water intercooler but I am a few months away from getting it sorted.

Take lots of pics and do a write up. Im sure other 3B owners (and non owners ) will be interested;)

Did you also change your diff gears? The underdrive gearset in the transfer should have lowered your RPM for a given speed. Not raised it as you stated.

Turbo ceramic coated, air to water cooler .. sound like a nice plans .. let us know how it goes and ya know plenty of pics !

Hello,

Good to know the registry is open.

Here is some data about my Land Cruiser:

Year: 2006
Model: FZJ71
Name: Purebreed
Engine: 1FZ-FE, gas, 4.5L EFI
Mileage: 35,000 km (21,700 mi)

It is pretty much a standard rig. I have not considered modifications.

I have compiled some data about fuel consumption, which I hope to post in a couple weeks.

I am looking for a good picture, and will post it later.
