Hi Gents,

been a long time quiet reader for several years and want to introduce myself with this post. I have been collecting and restoring several historic Cruisers over the last 15 years, but had my focus on mainly 60 series. Have got a V8 79 series as a company vehicle and 2 HJ61 as a private car which I use for fishing, camping, prospecting and a 2 month overlanding trip every year after Christmas to discover the outback, historic architecture, lost places and national parks.

At the moment I am spending a few thousand dollars rebuilding a 12HT engine I've bought nearly 10 years ago. More pictures to come. Looking forward to participate a bit more as an active member.

Thanks,
Henry

Hi Henry,
You're welcome. And thanks for sharing these nice pics.

Tell me, from your personal experience, what are the few things, if any, that would make you prefer taking a HJ61 over a V8 79 series (or any other modern car) for overlanding.

I am a big fan of the 60 series, and I almost exclusively drive 60 series (I'm rather biased, you see :) ). Why do you love the 60 series?

Regards
Boris

Welcome to finally signing up! So how many Maggiolina tents have you had? That certainly looks
vintage that first one. I’m on my second Extreme now. Great tents! 60’s Rule! I’m a Canadian and
the Yukon and NWT, Northern BC Canada are my playground areas. I have a 12HT which is certainly in
need of rebuild as well. I hope it certainly does not get into ‘the thousands’! But whatever the cost
it shall be worth it.
