Been on the board a few months now but never got around to posting up pics of my rig. Here it is:

It's got:
mystery v8 350
Centerforce Dual friction clutch
willow front disc brakes w/ slotted-crossdrilled rotors
rear TSM disc brake conversion
kyb shocks
rancho lift w/ rancho steering shock
bikini top
ratty bucket seats with $16 (a pair)advance auto seat covers
rear seats from a 76 I believe
customer rear bumper w/ air tank. It has an attachment to hold two jerry can's but I removed them to save on gas
rear 15 gal fuel tank

I have the hard top but its in fair to ok condition. I'm thinking about just getting rid of it. I didn't do any of the work on this truck except for the rear brakes and the clutch.

I did make that ghetto custom trans hump cover out of sheet metal and mr gasket shifter boots. It's sooo much cooler in there now. Best $30 I have spent in awhile. The hump got hacked up when the 350 was put in and the transmission was moved forward.

I just drove this rig from Oklahoma to South Carolina pulling a trailer. The total weight was over 7200 lbs! The truck itself weighs only 3500. My friends think im crazy but the AF paid me good money to move all my own junk. :D I made it but my brakes were really iffy. I think the old master cylinder doesn't work well with all the new disc brakes.

I plan on painting this bad boy and cleaning up all the surface rust. I'm thinking about getting a new roll cage and front bumper from iron pig:

Here are some lights I plan on ordering. The stock ones really suck at night. Anyone use these on their rig?

I also need a soft top and soft half doors. I'm thinking that's a much more practical solution than the hard stuff. How easy is it to install/uninstall the soft stuff?

I'm all really new at this but I'm willing to get my hands dirty. I'm lucky that I can do all my work at the base auto hobby shop so I have all the tools I would ever need and people there who know what the hell they are doing. I love this truck so much that I am selling my 04 mazda rx8 so I have more money to pump into this guy. :D

thats a big honkin rear bumper you got there :D

nice 40 anyhow!

welcome :D
(look for the official "mud salute" soon ;)

How did it feel going down the road with all that weight? Also nice looking cruiser.

Nice 40. You might want to add some lift if you plan to use it off-road.

note to self, do not use actual photo of myself after be probed from behind

welcome

really stable actually.. I didn't get beat up or anything. That was not the case before I installed the steering shock.. wow huge difference.

now coming to a stop was not fun though.

nice rig

Hey, Nice lookin 40. What about that 350-why a mystery? Welcome to the life. Is this your 1st 40?

This is my first 40 yes and I love it.

I don't know what that 350 is out of. The PO said it was from a 72 vette stingray but I dunno... I'm a noob and I guess I could get some numbers of the block but where could I check to see what engine it is?

Is that bed liner all over the back? or is it flat black paint? looks pretty good, Kind of an alternative to diamond plate.
What do you do in the A.F.? I was a Crew Chief for 14 years.

Yeah thats the funny thing about Corvette motors. There seems to be WAY more Vette motors than there were vettes . Mine was supposed to be a 327 that ended up as a 305. I think the numbers are on the rear drivers side of the block if I remember correctly.

Nice rig.

that's all bed liner. I like it but whoever painted it on didn't clean up the surface rust first so it shows through in some places. I want to sand blast it all and put in black diamond plating and redo the liner the right way.

What were you a crew chief on? I've just started flying the C-17 here. I love it.

I crewed:
O-A- 37B Dragonflies from 84-87 at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson,
F-4 E's from 87-88 in Taegu Korea,
F-16 A, B C, D block 15, 25 from 88-92 at Hill AFB Utah,
F-16 C, D block 40 from 92-95 at Eielson AFB Alaska,
F-16 C,D block 52 from 92-98 at Mt. Home AFB Idaho.
Then I got out. I now work at an Airline.
I love flying on the C-17. Much more comfortable/ quiet than the old 141's . C-5's aren't too bad though. Are you a Zoomie? I spent 13 years growing up in Colorado Springs.

This is the site I use to code Chevy stuff: http://www.mortec.com/ it will tell you where to look for the numbers and what they mean.

Welcome and good luck. Nice Rig!
