I did some searching but pics are hard to come by. I would rather fab one than buy one. I have some ideas but would like to see others. I had one on my 40 a long time ago but cant really remember what it looked like. I know mudrack used to sell one and may give him a call, but I like to make my own stuff.

Here's mine; not perfect, but workable... used two pieces of scrap angle iron. Had to spend some time w/ the grinder to clear the spark plug socket and the water hose.

Never mind the bottle. It's just there to... show scale, yeah.

But the mount does make a handy flat surface for frosty beverages during the many months (ok, years) I spent working on the thing.

Oh, btw the alternator mount below is for a GM 17-SI. In hind sight, I'd have pushed the mounting hole a little further down to get better swing on the belt tensioner. HTH. -Ed '70FJ40

Goog looking beer holder, oops I mean york bracket.

Do you have any drawings for this?

Chuck

Mine is very similar to pghfj40 except that I added a mounting plate on the side of the York for dual alternators. I even had to notch for the water hose as he did. The mounting plate on the side has two sets of mounting tabs. One alternator is the stock alternator for charging purposes and the second is wired up as an on-board welder.

The welding alternator is aligned so that it runs off the second pulley of the York.

Thanks for the pics, those look great. I was trying to mount it as low as possible, but after seeing yours, I may go a little higher. Its hard to tell where the hood level is. I'm trying to stay level with the air cleaner.

I had the fenders off when building mine: could reach a hand in and check clearance to the hood.

Suppose you could remove a side skirt & do the same during mock-up... the hood's higher than you'd probably guess.

Go here and read all about it.

I have the F and a half. You know, the late F. It has the mounting holes like the 2F. Will your bracket work? Do you hve a pic?

Making that bracket is not difficult. I got Mudraks bracket, but if I do it again, I will just make. Plus, if you use Mudrak's design you can set it up to use a GM alternator...140amps ;p

mmmmmmmmm 140 aammmmpps :)

What year or PN is best to use? Is that a one wire setup?

One thing interesting to note, I tried to install Mudrak's 2F York mount in my '69 FJ55 a while back and it was too tall! I couldn't close the hood and had to pull it out. I ended up going with a ND AC compressor and the FJ60 motor mount and 3-groove fly wheel pulley. :D

Yea, just looking at it, it looks like it needs to be pretty low to clear the hood. How did the fj60 mounts help you out?

If height is an issue you can mount the York horizontally. It works fine. This is from the "technical links"

Yea, tried to find kccruisers but the link is no good. Are they out of biz?

BTW, thanks for the pics. CruisinGA I like the intake for your compressor. I plan on taking fresh air from the same location.

Pin-Head, I saw that setup in the links. Is that yours? I was concerned about laying it on its side. What hapens to the oil that has to be added.
