Does anyone have a 1967 FJ40 parts catalog? I need the oem part number for the front heater knob on the heater. It should be 1963-1967 fj40 heaters with the pull knob on lower left front of heater. Mine is missing the knob and I want to see if Toyota can still get it. Their system is only 1969-never vehciles.

Thanks.

WAY WAY no longer available.

(Edited for correctness )
I’ve found a guy on Instagram that posts under Oldpartscruisers.

He’s in Venuzuala and has been spot on for some No Longer Available old stock for me.

Gabe, I have the 1963-1967 books. Remind me to get you the number if you can’t find them.

Thanks. I also need to check on something for you too. I have a fj25 hardtop that has a crack in the top. I was thinking about repairing the fiberglass area, however I could also cut out the roof vent if you are still needing one. Let me know and I will check it out tomorrow. I'm still needing some fj25 parts so maybe we can work out a trade of some sorts. The roof vent has a cap that the prior owner bolted over the top. My guess is that the seal was leaking and he rigged up some poor fix. I will remove that and check condition in the morning.

It appears what your looking for is the knob for the defrost damper. Not sure what the difference in a FJ45 pickup would be have a bracket for the blower and vent for a early factory heater and one hole was bigger but not sure if that was original or someone's mod. Believe the non rear heater ones had a chrome plug in the unused hole. Only thing I have in the 65-67 range is my non heater FJ45. That didn't stop me from getting the bracket or a number early factory heaters. One bought off eBay and was minus the back cover. Haven't looked at them in years but remember they looked better than the picture you posted in the other thread. I know what my plan was for them but that shipped sailed years ago.

For the 93648-67 parts catalog, the heater assembly is identified, but the component parts, like the knob in front, are not.

I'm lost, I do not see the knob listed as a separate part in the diagram. Part numbers show 40LV and 45LV. Did not see 45LP. The 45LV was different but was also made some where else then the 40LV and 45LP.

Would have to look at mine but believe that restored one is too grey. Factory was more charcoal.

Knob would be listed in the HVAC controls sub-section in the ELECTRICAL main section.

On a 63-67 4X series? The defrost knob in on the heater with no electric involved? Could see for the blower switch knob but from his wanted ad in the classified section believe Gabe want the defrost knob. Also think the blower switch knob with the H was used until the 73 model which means finding that part number is much easier since it was used past 3/69.

Yep. I just looked at mine. It is small shaft and has a D on it.

It’s the small accessory panel on my 45 that has the heater blower knob with the larger diameter shaft. Sorry for the confusion.

Do you a picture of this switch? This is on your 67 FJ45LP-B and not a FJ45LV? Seems weird Toyota would use a different switch knob then the FJ40 since they were made in the same plant. LV can understand. Not around my FJ45LP-B parts book that only coverz parts different then the FJ40 and FJ43. Heater part number that were different would be listed there.

Doesn’t matter. HVAC controls are a subsection of the main ELECTRICAL section. Regardless if it is manual or not.

Do you have any literature with this for a 67 or older? All my micro-fiche and paper literature are at our other home because of the extreme wild fire danger where we are. Been relocating stuff for a while. HVAC sounds kind of fancy for a vehicle that did not have a Air Conditioning option. HV would have covered it. Maybe @wscbill can post a picture of the sub section diagram if there is one. Personally think Fig 47 is all there is. A-D seems to cover all the controls in the bracket under the dash. The blower is covered as well. But the knob in the face of the heater itself does not have a line with a letter saying it's a separate part. All the damper for defrost is not covered either. It shows the defrost vents that are in the windshield just a shadow which probably means it's on the windshield diagram. Would really be surprised of anymore detail or sub section. Pretty simple in the sixties. My electricial manual for my 2000 LC I had is as big as the whole FSM for my 89 LC.

There is no HVAC subsection in the parts catalog pictured above. The front and rear heater options are listed separately for the vehicles covered by the catalog FJ40V, FJ40LV, FJ45V and FJ45LV. Figure 47 diagram is all there is for the FJ40. The attached pdf covers the heater pages from the parts catalog.

The first diagram is for the earlier Nippon-Denso heater. I have one of these in a FJ25. Is it a heater only in the FI25. While it has the doors to force air to the defrost ports on the back nothing is hooked to them. There was one FJ45LV with this optional heater on mud. It also had ductwork over to the right cowl with a vent. To defrost/defog you should use outside air with less humidity. Believe the reason all the aftermarket heaters are mounted over the passenger's feet instead of the center. Open the right kick vent to get outside air.

Do you have anything for the FJ45P/LP? On the standard front heater I only see one listing for the blower switch (C) correct? I also do not see any separate listing for the (D) defrost knob. Is that also correct?

It’s
Have you tried to remove the trim ring to see if it will slip over the shaft? Have you looked at the bottom to see if that isn't the sub part of the knob and the rest has cracked and fallen off?

Well hell. No. Good idea. Maybe.

The hazard was the same way though.

Same as the 4WD knob.
