Hi, all!

I need headlight bulbs for my ‘94. Mine are old and not very bright.

Is there a max lumen count I should stay under in order to prevent overheating and melting of the wiring harness?

I found these on Amazon and I was thinking about getting them. Would one of you be able to help me and confirm that they’ll fit/work? They’re 9005/HB3 High Beam — 9006/HB4 Low Beam & are 6,000 Lumens.

Amazon product ASIN B07K43XKDF
I want to go for something brighter than my yellow halogens — so that’s why I’m drawn to these. I don’t want SUPER bright/blinding lights, though. As I hate when other driver’s cars have those super blinding and extra-bright Xenons & LED’s.

Sorry if these are noobie questions. I’ve been driving Cruisers since I was 16 — but I’m just now starting to learn more about them and do some work on my rig myself.

Thanks in advance!

That’s exactly what these are. The search term on here you are looking for is HIR. You can find how to modify the 9011 to fit as well.
edit: because I was curious, the thread was on page 4

They’re exactly what — LED/Xenon?

So do you know if they’d work with my 80? Or should I stay away from them because they’re too bright?

Cheers!

People recommend staying away from led, hid, xenon bulbs in the oem housing because they are not projector headlights. Halogen bulbs are going to be the best light distribution and most “controlled” light inside the oem reflector headlights. That being sad I have superbrightled.com’s 9005/9006 lights in oem housing. They needed to be adjusted lower than where the halogens were. They were 150 ish for all 4 bulbs which is a bit pricey but they are intended to have similar beam patterns to oem halogens. I drive on rural highways all the time and I’m perfectly happy with them myself, but others refuse to use the “incorrect style” bulb in their headlights. To each their own.

Drop some 9011 Wagner HIR’s in all 4 holes, less than $50 delivered. I just changed out my 9005 low beams tonight, it’s a great upgrade for the $.

these are LED’s, it’s in the title of the product linked. Everyone else covered why LED’s don’t work well.

Oh! Thanks for pointing that out. On my iPhone the full title wasn’t displaying on Amazon’s mobile app... so I couldn’t see where it said LED.

Cheers for the advice & response!

9011s are the ONLY upgrade you should do in the stock housings. big improvement and cheap. next step would be some depos with projectors or get the round light setup from kelly.
