I am thinking about selling my 86HJ60 and I am not to sure what it is worth. It has 360,000kms, 6cyl diesel, auto, 24v, power converter (purchased from GS Cruiserparts), frame is solid, new used tranny and tcase from a Japanese truck, sprung over, high steer, 35'' BFG Mud Terrains. Custom front bumper with 24v warn 8274 winch, safari snorkel. That is all I can think of right now, but here is the bad stuff: rocker panels shot on both sides, needs new front windshield, rear brake adjusters seized, exhaust leak at the start of the pipe (after it bolts to the manifold), needs new injector nozzles, doors have rust, rear wheel wells have rust blisters, and finally my rear drive shaft has some play and is currently leaking alot of diff fluid where it bolts to the diff, hopefully I can afford to fix it this week. So anyways with all that in mind any idea of what my truck might be worth in Canadian funds??? Any input would be appreciated.

it would help if you posted pics...

i'll give you $150 bucks for it.

I think there is a search that you can do to find out how to post
your pics. They do have to be JPG at least that is what i have had
the best success with. Oh yea just ignore the flamers, there a cruel

Relax, you'll always get some useless answers, especially to question like yours, without pictures.
I'll try to be honest: Your truck is not worth much. The engine has a lot of kilometers on it, has an exhaust leak and the injectors are bad.. The suto might be good, but is not worth much. The truck is rusted out with many other issues. I highly doubt the frame is solid, when the rockers are gone and the brake cranks are rusted shut.
Probably you get more for it if you part it out.
From your description, I'd sau 1000 to 2000$, if you are lucky.
cheers,
Jan

Mike,

Without pictures everything is just speculation. But, Parting it out is probably your best bet.

The high mileage diesel motor is probably the object of greatest value in your truck. I have fj60 that is in roughly the same condition yours is according to your evaluation of it. Mine has a gasoline motor with less miles(not sure on kilometres though). The rockers on mine are shot, the rear fenders including the lower rear quarter panels are shot, and I got it for FREE. And it had brand new tires that run $200US apiece.

Someone is always looking for a toyota diesel to plug into their truck, though yours might need rebuilding, it is still something us here in the US have to buy somewhere since they aren't availible here.

The winch, if it works good, is probably another thing that you can get good money for especially if it is mounted on a nice bumper.

I have no idea of the worth of your truck until i see some pictures. And I don't want to offend you with a lowball guess.

if the interior is nice those are some more parts that might sell(along with the motor and accessories) that might push the value of parts over the value of the vehicle.

Go look at the autotrader.ca for BC lower mainland. There are always a couple in there.
