As mentioned in previous threads, I am new to the FJ40 scene. 20+ years ago I was rebuilding things like a '34 Coupe, a '34 $-Door, a '45 Pickup, and my daily driver was a '69 Chevy C10 1/2 ton SWB Fleetside. Lost everything... stolen while gone to be with my grandfather / best friend / hero in his final days and take care of all arrangements. Since they were in the shop I didn't have full coverage insurance, so I literally lost everythinig with years of sweat blood and tears, including 80 gallon upright 2-stage air compressor & air tools, mig welder, engine hoist and 2 engine stands and 3 engines (1 was a 1958 Big Block Fire Power Hemi that I had rebuilt, balanced, and blueprinted), and everything else. After that, I couldn't even bare to watch an episode of My Classic Car or anything. It has not been until recently that I've got the itch to redo something. Unfortunately Parkinson's symptoms have robbed be of my steady usable hands. My hope is that my 2 sons can be my hands and I can teach & bond with them in the process.

So, I just bought a 1971 Toyota FJ40, and in a week or 2 will either have it shipped here or go get it myself (if my wife allows, LOL).

I would "like" to get:

*A rebuilt engine, probably preferable an F2
*Transmission & transfer case, preferable rebuilt
*OEM Toyota PTO Winch (the rig I bought has a PTO wench but it is not an OEM Toyota unit. Willing to trade & deal
*Hub caps
*Grab handle above the glove box
*Dash pad
*Roll bar

I can pay cash for the right deal, OR... I can offer something maybe even better. I spent the past couple of years redoing my "mistress" who my wife named "Jolene" (after the song). She is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! But with the Parkinson's symptoms my wife is terrified for me to ride her anymore. Breaks my heart. But my loss could be someone's gain.

Below I will paste the text of what I was going to post for Jolene for sale, and I will attach photos. Enjoy:

The ONLY reason I'm selling my bike is because of medical problems that make it unsafe for me to ride anymore.

This is a VERY rare factory clone of a 1948 Indian Chief made by Kawasaki (until they got a court order to stop making them, which makes it more rare) that I had repainted last year, black with a fine gray metallic that looks stunning when the sun hits it, and helmet painted to match. You can park it next to a $50,000 bike and more people look at it than the other. It's the best of both worlds, with that classic look but Kawasaki reliability and performance.

Features:

92 Cubic Inch (1500 cc) Fuel Injected Engine.

Vance & Hines Exhaust that sounds GREAT.

Memphis Shades Batwing Quick Release Front Fairing so you can ride with or without it.

ALL lights converted to LED.

Adaptive Technology LED Headlight that lights up additional LEDs when turning or going around a curve to fill in the dark spot. ($2,000 dollar upgrade).

Denali Sound Bomb air horn that sounds like an 18 wheeler or train coming if someone gets too close.

BrakeAway Cruise Control.

Accessory Charging Port with 2 USB C ports and 1 regular USB port.

Cell Phone Holder.

Full Quill Ostrich Leather Saddle Seat.

Matching Full Quill Leather Tank Bib, Passenger Seat, and Saddlebags.

2 Helmets: 1 Matching paint Daytona German style, and 1 Full Face Modular with built in sun visor.

Smart removable Helmet LED Brake Light, lights up when you let off the throttle, and if you go down it detects it and will notify your emergency contacts and first responders with GPS location so they can even quickly find you if you are in a ditch in the dark.

Trailer Hitch and removable locking ball.

Bike Dolly, so you can park on it and move it around your garage out of the way or rotate it to be ready to leave next time.

Battery Tender with Quick Connect.

This has been my baby, and I hate to see her go. My loss is your gain. It is the perfect blend of great

looks, great sound, but far better reliability and low maintenance. If you want to more know about what a Super Chief is, here is a short video about them:

$6,500. I would be taking a little bit of a loss at that price.

PRICE REDUCTION: I would take $6,500 for my bike, and everything goes with it. I would be taking a little bit of a loss, but it is heart breaking to see it in the garage knowing I can no longer ride, and I could put the money into my FJ40 project.
