nice find, thats gunna be alot of fun for you guys to play with...i wish i would have discovered cruisers at his age, i figure im doing pretty good though, i started last year and have spread the disease to my old man who just bought a cruiser last week...i would kill for a 45 but its looking like i will have mine and the old mans to keep me busy for a good long time. AWESOME find...sure did raise that kid right

nice find for sure. you should really post a link to this in the 45 forum and add the vin to the fj45 registry. heck, you should bring it to the "fj45 run" this year! sept 1st thru 3rd in norcal......

orangefj45 i to;d my wife we have a goal sept. right now it looks like i have to do all the brakes master cylinder, clutch servo and booster, and figure out why the steering is so tight. but its a pure labor of love

well today we figured out we could not get it to roll very good , both rear drums looks like this and this was the good one, well we got the clutch working and had the truck on blocks running shifted ok and everything seems to be working fine. my weekend is over so we wont be doing anymore work until the next set of days off

Nice score. I can relate to the lack of excitement from outsiders. My buddy's girlfriend was over yesterday, and asked me if had a time frame for getting my "old Jeep thing" running.

no D i cant imagine why it wore like that but i have another set i will be putting on , and guys i will pass on to Will there are guys wanting him to start a business riding his bike around looking for cruisers , man i love that boy!!!! adn we picked up the truck in so calif i am working this week but next week we will get more updates on the progress thanks for your support

On the brakes, it would be my guess that at one time it had shoes with riveted brake material and they worn down to the rivets then the rivets began to wear into the drums. It used to be common to see this "way back when" when most brake material was riveted and not bonded to the shoes. When you let the brakes get down to the rivets, you generally ruined the drums too. You will need to replace the drums and shoes to fix it correctly. Someone may have just thrown a set of shoes on it for a quick fix. Now those shoes have worn down to fit the grooves in the drums.
 
I very am very unhappy with those of you who have a 45. Especially when you do well on the price and your :princess: does not threaten you with the purchase!
