I ordered a set from the Lseat website a week ago and never received a confirmation email but it appeared on my credit card quickly. I sure hope i don't regret it like some here and on the bmw forums have. I ordered just a standard set of bisque for the 80 series front seats. I'm prepared to wait 2 months if need be but after that i will dispute the charge if he doesn't ship by then. Roll the dice....
You should have just bought from Amazon. Much easier process. Mine took about 4-5 weeks but I had no problems whatsoever. Plus it doesn't charge you until it ships.

My order was the same. Took about 10 days for a status update email from LSeat. Then roughly 10 more days before I received them.
Should be fine.

Ordered mine direct from Lseat. No response and charged quickly. They showed up a month later and very happy with the quality.

Ditto. Charged quickly. Then a shipping notice, but they didn’t ship for awhile. Then they showed up about five weeks later, start to finish.

Quality is good for the price point.

Even had a small problem with one of the seat bottoms — small split in the leather — several months after the sale. Just a random flaw IMHO. They are making it right and sending me a new seat bottom cover.

I installed Lseat.com covers in 2017. I'm already seeing some wear on the edges of the front seats. We put around 6 to 8K miles a year on the truck so not that much. I'm still happy with my purchase but if the wear continues, I might be looking for other options.

I clicked on the amazon store link off of his lseat.com website and it says store does not exist. Also on ebay i get a quote for 200$ shipping to my address in hawaii. Must be using fedex or ups. On his lseat website he uses usps and its only 50$ shipping.

Ordered mine on march 31st for $328 shipped to Indiana. Received them on May 3rd. Everything was super smooth and they look great to me. Mine did come USPS also.

Just got mine and was very surprised he included the armrests and the console cover! Very good deal for the price he charges. I used my wifes face steamer to shrink the leather on the console cover and it looks very nice. He cut the leather a bit short on the console cover so you need to be really precise centering it when you first set it in the glue.

Here's my newly installed LSeat covers. I ordered the perforated center sections on mine. My drivers side seat frame was cracked on the left front, so I ended up having to re-weld it in a few spots. I also built up the foam where it was worn on the side bolsters. Ended up using heavy duty mil-spec zip ties instead of hog rings. I used 1/4 inch staples for the console and armrest covers. Overall pretty happy with how everything turned out. Not bad for the price!

Looks really nice. Not many wrinkles. Did you use steam? I'm trying the hot wet towel in the microwave over the loose wrinkled areas. Did you just replace the foam that was rotten or added more on top? I added burlap on the bottom to protect the foam where it goes over the side of the springs because that area gets compressed every time you get in and out. I just cut off the rotten and glued in new high density foam.

Yea, cheap leather doesn't wear as good as the original leather. Maybe if you used something on the leather that made the seat more slippery and thus less scuffing of the leather. Some people swear by Mequires leather wipes for getting that seat nice and slippery

I used a heat gun and a damp rag on mine. I just replaced the rotted sections on the sides. I also used felt on the bottom to tie in the new foam. After I reinstalled everything, I put on a coat of Leatherique Rejuvenator.

I wanted to throw in my $0.02 on Lseat now that my fronts are installed. Like others, I was charged immediately, update in a week or so, and the packaged showed up ~25 days from ordering. As I didn’t have time nor the patience to install them myself, I had a local shop in Atlanta do the install. Oscar’s upholstery in Doraville had it knocked out in a day for the front seats, arm rests, head rests, and console cover. When I picked it up, Oscar notes that the leather and “kit” were very nice and wanted details on where I sourced it. They did have an issue with the passenger arm rest stitching/cut not aligning perfectly but Lseat is making right and sending another arm rest.
For the money, I feel like the Lseat kit is a great value and looks amazing compared to the OEM seats which looked like a goat had them for lunch. We’ll see how they wear but I’m happy for the moment and glad I didn’t pay double or more for “the other kits” out there.

"Goat had them for lunch..." haha that's awesome :D

I went and inquired in two local shops about having them done... but decided to give it a crack myself when quoted $800-900. Yikes.

I had a mixed experience with Lseat. My '94 FJZ80 front seats were split at seams and I went with Lseat because they were priced right. Consulted Lseat about which grey I should order and they steered me right. Took a long time for the seats to arrive, and when I opened them they were for totally wrong vehicle. Lseat agreed to cover return shipping, and I finally got the right items.

Had a friend who did a seat once so we decided to do it ourselves. Found a thread somewhere on this forum that walked us through it, thank goodness. Lseat provides no instructions. Took about six hours for seat one and maybe four for seat two. Fit was generally good.... the power seat control openings needed a little trimming but otherwise fit right.. Quality and stitching seemed good to me. Fortunately my foam was still good enough to not require repair.

Seats have been in service now for about six months and I feel like I made the right choice despite a few hiccups along the way.

Plan on waiting weeks for your order to arrive (there's no way to check status), and open it immediately to make sure it's what you ordered.

Here's how mine came out (my headrests and armrests were okay do I didn't do them, although materials were included):

I would not buy from them again ever, for any reason, no matter how cheap! My seats bottom covers had no attachment points sewn in, which I of course discovered after the seats were dismantled. After requesting to send the bottoms back so they could fix them they refused. They rather chose to send me new seat bottoms, and of course sent the wrong color. When I again complained they argued with me that they were not a different color. In the end and 9 months later I had the first set of bottom covers fixed by a local upholstery shop and hope to finally complete the install.

That's not cool.

I got my Lseat Dim Grey covers about 2 months ago and have been waiting for some time to get it all done. I placed my order, had the money taken the next day and then about 3 weeks later, the covers showed up. Given what I'd heard on here, I didn't expect them for an additional few weeks. My only real gripe, was that they were shipped in a thick plastic bag and thats it, no additional cardboard box to protect against the hazards of the shipping world. Needless to say, the did arrive unscathed, so I've got that going for me.

I've been visiting this thread for a few months as I've geared up to tackle the install of my seat covers with Dorman heated seat pads and OEM switches. Thanks to @asutherland for the write up, It helped me get through a good portion of this install with some knowledge instead of just stabbing around blind. A couple of notes I made that might help others.

1- To get the headrest guide plugs out easiest, I took the seat back off first, and then took a 15mm deep socket and 6" extension and pushed up from the back of the seat onto the bottom of the headrest plugs, its the perfect diameter to compress them and let them slide out with ease. Coincidentally, this is the same socket I used to press on and off my Gamaviti seat gears.

2- Since there are no pre-made holes for the hog rings to go into, and its a giant PITA to pierce the fabric and get the hog ring to wrap around anything remotely tight, I took a nail (actually its a used exhaust valve from a MINI cooper that has been sharpened on a bench grinder lol) heated it up, and used that to burn/pierce a hole in the fabric where I needed to put the hog rings. I feel that the burning action keeps the threads from unravveling when under tension. Also, good quality hog rings and hog rings pliers are a must.

3- Definitely do the passenger side first, so that your growing pains can be on the lesser used seat and will minimize the downtime. It took me a while to get my passenger seat done, and ended up having to re-do a portion of the back because i routed the leather incorrectly at the bottom. Hell, it took me like 2 hours just to figure out what to do to get the backrest separated as well as the seat bottom from the seat frame. Don't just start taking out ALL of the 12mm's. Leave the 6 that sit at the front of the rail ALONE.

I'm hoping to have my drivers seat done today, depending on workload (doing it at work has benefits and drawbacks) but will post pictures when all said and done.

Thanks again.
