Odd.. are you sure you're timing this correctly, spill tube #1 - what mark are aiming for the on the crank? This pump ran just fine with your A440F didnt it? It cant have shifted timing so dramatically.

You push the clutch and the engine stops?? This is odd.. something is not right.
The engine don't stop when I push the clutch , but the RPM gets around 475 and bump back to normal after .

It's running fine , but I'm timing it with the piezo and the lamp . Should be precise 🤷

I have a little black smoke , and that's it ... But according to the marks and the timing lamp I'm at 14° instead of 18 ....

I'm yet to see a calibration of a piezo electric pickup on #1 line with the FSM spill timing approach.

I wonder if the distance I put the piezo from the pump can affect the reading ... I don't think honestly .... But I will check anyway

I'm almost suspicious there may be some hysteresis issues involved.. i.e what the piezo pickup considers as a spill event is in fact slightly later/earlier? than what the actual spill event visually observed might be.

That's what I think too ... Just spoke with my brother he said it's possible also depending on engine type I might absolutely need to spill time it .... The piezo work well on caterpillar and older Cummins engines but he never had to try it on a Toyota 😅

So , project of the day .. spill timing!

Well I made my spill timing tool ... Then went to work , while at it ... Valve clearances were nice 👍

Went to turn the crankshaft and to my huge surprise ..... The crankshaft bolt/nut was gone ... Witch probably explain the fan blades that went to hell a month ago ... Lucky nothing worse happened .

Ordered a new one ... But wanted to check my timing anyway so I used a big washer and a yoke but I had to turn the crank .

Timing is on point . 18° so the piezo is 4 degrees back .

Well again the truck is on down Time waiting for that bolt .... Sold the 3b today so the T case kit will be ordered and the transmission will come off once again soon.

I put a CV axle nut ,while waiting for the right crankshaft bolt and the truck run very nicely ... The noise is much less agressive since the oil cleaned up the bearings ... But the thing that surprises me the most : I never made over 450km on a boring and slow fuel tank .... I'm now at 550km on this one not even trying !! My torque converter was probably tired....

I'm glad I did the swap !

Wheels are now installed too ! Love them ... Just wish I had 33s ... Again 😅

T case kit is coming , transmission rebuild will be pretty soon.

Wow.. thats quite an improvement! So good.

Yeahhhh everything has arrived ! So we get to work this week . Getting the transmission off again with the T case.

Transmission rebuild, t case rebuild 4 New u-joints . Fresh oil (again) . Looking to get the right transmission tunnel cover and maybe a new carpet for sound insulation (because it's fu#$ing loud in there 😅)

More interesting pictures coming soon

Thx to Radd cruisers again for fast service !

Got optimistically started tonight to begin that transmission job . Everything went well till the time was to pull the transmission out ... It's stuck . And by that I mean the pillow bearing came out on the shaft and it's blocking behind the clutch so the transmission can't get out 🥲 First time it happen to me...

I'm gonna sleep on it and think of a solution , if you have any they are more than welcome because for now I'm thinking about removing the clutch by the starter hole and I don't really want to do it 😑

Here's how it sits hoping I didn't break the clutch trying to get it out ....

Anyway my work lamps are dead and I am too for tonight ... Let's solve that tomorrow 🙏

So far I've been thinking of solutions ....

the one I dont really want to do ... removing the clutch by the starter hole...

not sur this one is gonna work , but im definetly trying tonight : I will strap the t-case to the rear housing with a bender to give some pulling tension and keep on prying it out ...

last one is to put long bolts in the bell housing holes and have the to push the transmission out with a nut between block and bell housing

will update with what worked ... or not

Long bolts will force the pilot bearing through the clutch, it'll destroy it. But I don't think you can get the clutch hub through the pressure plate fingers even if you did get pressing bolts.

I'd try to just slam the trans back and forth to get the pilot bearing to come off.

I tried that for like an hour yesterday , but it was hard to get it to back off evenly ... might be why It's still there

like I said I will try with a bender applying force to it while prying and maybe have a buddy on the other side with another pry bar.

Well nothing worked pulling it out ....

Had to remove the pusher plate to get it out... And I need another clutch disk...

But it's out

Didn't clean the input shaft enough so it was hella stuck ......

Famous finger .....

And the damaged clutch friction disc ...got another one ordered ... They are quite cheap but I would have preferred to keep this one ....anyway what's done is done .

And we open the transmission /t case tomorrow or soon .. I guess 😅
