I'd like to get this puppy running on 35's with power steering. Currently has a chevy 350 under the hood.

I just wanted opinions on what the easiest and effective setup to install would be on this rig, as I am nearing the end of my cruiser budget and labor is so expensive. I've read through a around 50 different posts on the subject, but nothing beats personalized advice.

This is a picture of the OME suspension we had installed a while ago,

I'd like to use the current suspension in there if possible, as I'd feel terrible something I've dished out so much cash for. I do not do much heavy off roading, just light trails.

Any and all opinions comments welcome!
Thanks!

Oh, whats the best oil to use in an old Warn 8000 winch? I've read 30 W oil, is this just TW-30?

Did you look on the tech links page? There are several different types. The Saginaw, Mintruck

If you looking for a simple bolt on, Classic Cruisers has a complete kit for $950

Can't rate it since I don't have power steering, but I am evaluating as one one omy potential winter mod's.

You might send WARN an e-mail on the oil question or contact a vendor who sells WARN.

If on a budget you might consider stock rims with 33X9.50 tires and wait on the power steering. They are narrow and handle will without PS. Where do you get the diamond plate pieces that cover the whole side, my brother needs some and yours look good.

Take some templates to a fabricator. The labor will be cheaper than trying to ship something that size. A jig saw and belt sander will also work wonders.

where in bc did you find it? what did you pay if you dont mind me asking? im here in kelowna bc looking at a fj40 with a 350, just curious as to the price difference

I found it in Williams Lake, I think that is in BC, Just above seattle? I paid 1750 Canadian Dollars for it and I am not sure if I got a good deal. The suspension was pretty shot, but the engine and body are both strong, the chassis mostly rust free except for a single spot underneath the passenger side wheel well.

I am not sure where the Diamond Plating came from, as it was installed before it's PO. It shines up nicely though and it makes it overall pretty bulletproof!

Damn, where are the bezel nazi's?

Nice Cruiser. If you're runnin' out of funds, enjoy it as is. I don't really miss power steering until I roll in a rut off road and almost forget to not stick my hands through the steering wheel holes....yikes.

Good Luck. Oh, and Flip yer bezel and paint it white or light gray. (match it to the diamond plate)
