Hahaha I just found that umbrella back there earlier today. I usually have a plastic mat that blocks it from view... Great to know its in there though :)

Yeah, in the Wagongear instructions it mentions moving the thing out of the way, but i didn't really want to. Im probably not gonna put anything in the DS panel either unless its something ill rarely need. Those panel latches are a freaking pain in the ass to reach she you're only 5'10" and your trucks sprung over haha!

I store spare belts and jumper cables in there...

I patched up some holes on both rear quarter panels sides (probably same place where you showed the dirt falling on the PS rear quarter panel)...but now that they are patched, I'm getting water pool in the DS one!! When it rains bad, I can hear it slosh around! Some guy posted here on MUD that he found that the gasket around the filler pipe to the tank was letting water in, but I check mine today (was raining) and it was dry...think it might be coming through a hole(s) in the rain channel on the roof and down the pillar...

...probably need to mount a couple of those umbrellas along side the PS roof top!

P,

I had an emergency wool army blanket that kept most things padded.

As far as the muck in the lower quarters... there are a couple of rubber plugs on the inner panel under the rig. You have to get under there and look, IIRC they are 1" diameter. They are about 4-6" up from the bottom pinch weld seam, if they are missing and you have been driving through red GA clay/soup/water/mud... (I KNOW YOU HAVE... It will get in there.

J

Excellent idea with the army blanket. We've got plenty of those scratchy green things haha.

Thanks for the info on the plugs! Ive only been in the GA red clay "once or twice" hehe, so there wasn't much sitting inside. Not nearly as much as i had in the DS. Tire spinning off road, not a good idea when theres a hole in the direct trajectory of the mud.

Those jumper cables i have are pretty unsightly, thats a good way to clean it up a little.

I looked at the filler gasket today and it seemed alright. And Im no Dexter, but it seems the splatter is coming from underneath. Im hoping its not anything to do with the gutters, but ill give that a looks tomorrow as well.

Come on. I don't check in on mud in almost a year and you go SOA? Next thing you're going to tell me is you have a diesel swap planned (You don't, do you?)

Cruiser's looking good. Makes me wish I had time to work on mine right now.

Thanks :)

No diesel swap, but i am in the very very early stages of something similar. Probably won't lead to anything, but its fun to plan in my head. No use even talking about it haha, just gonna get my own hopes up lol!

But yeah, SOA was a fun project. Still some small things i want to change to make it better, but thats sort of on the back burner since i know ill just want to change it again immediately after I'm "finished", so i might as well clear my head and move on to other things for a little while.

I don't know anything about it, it just sounds badass

ACC had an HJ61 in the shop yesterday, so i definitely had to go CHECK DAT s*** OUT!!!!! Never seen one before up close like this and it was neat as hell! Only problem, I was so excited to look at it i forgot to use the good camera to take pics...

Chillin next to one badass drift car.

SO JDM!!!! awesome!

After the HJ61 got picked up by the new owner (yeah it sounded as good as it looked), Aidan and I got to work cutting a big hole in the tailgate for the last wagon gear panel that showed up Friday.

About this time, i went to go sit in the ACC office, because air conditioning. I figured if i hide out in there long enough and annoy the people and the pup, Macho, the next time i go outside, Aidan will have finished installing the panel himself, and i will be able to continue annoying the people and Macho... Only problem, Aidan cut the s*** out of his thumb while grinding down the edges, and only 5 of the bolt holes lined up with the WG panel. When we got home later, I fell right to sleep, but Aidan appears to have gotten to work drilling more holes and finishing the install... like he should've at ACC........................ :p

Now i guess i should go take a look at it in person and clean all the little metal shavings out of there.

nice pics, curious to know if that can support my 230lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal. i sit on the tailgate a lot.

Yep it'll support you haha. Doesn't weaken the tailgate at all.

I'm not worried about the tail gate, I guess I'm asking if the material used can hold 230 lbs, or two normal weight adults

Aidan and I (maybe 350lbs) just sat on it and the plastic didn't flex any. Its pretty well supported all the way around the edge of the plastic.

I'm about 230# as well. I can close the hatch (with the tailgate down) and literally jump as high I can up from the tailgate, and land in the middle of the tailgate lid repeatedly, and nothing budges. The tailgate panel makes the whole tailgate stronger.

It can support:
- H55 + split case assembly being dropped on it
- NV4500 being dropped on it
- Completely FF axle housings being dropped on it
- 3 or 4 full grown adults sitting on it

Pat, sweet panel! Love that new(er) dimpled plastic look. Hide your recovery gear in there! Great spot IMO.
