Woke up to this near the front door today, been gone so long, at times i forgot i had them!

When i got them off "Rusty", the plastic doors took up the entire panel, and one was almost entirely broken off its hinges... Cant have that! So now, the doors are smaller, and i added a lockable latch to one side so that it'd be a little harder to break into haha.

latching system

Locking latch

Air Compressor mockup. Really hoping it fits between the wheel well and rear seat haha.

So now, I've just got to find out where my Wagon Gear tailgate lid is... Seems to be MIA in Illinois somewhere... Which FxxxING SUCKS, especially since that thats the package that has my Wagon gear stickers in it :crybaby:

But i put a little money down on one of @reevesci's "Trail Tailer" rear bumper, so that makes me feel much better knowing that that will be coming in a month or so. He's already begun sending me pictures of it... I couldn't believe he'd gotten started on it already. J's, definitely a great, talented guy, y'all should buy his bumpers FOR SURE!!!!

P, I love the panels. Will the compressor fit inside the body, behind the panel, once installed?

Thanks for the kind words, I just work.. Some days I get quite a bit done and others are learning curves... Hope to get a little more done on yours tomorrow... Its tubing cut and bend day again... I plan on trying to finish my sliders as well...

Yup, I put in the order the next day I had pics from J. Wasn't expecting that at all.

I got a little finished on yours too today Mike.

P, see Mike's thread for the quarter pics... If there is something you want to see, let me know and I'll snap a pic for you.

Ive thought about putting it behind the panel (I'm pretty sure its deep enough), and i would like to if i had it connected to an aux air tank (which i hope to have in the future), but then id be terrified that if anything were to happen to that panel via douchebag rock or tree, no more air compressor :/ haha. Im planning on finding or making a bag type thing that will cover the compressor once mounted.

And just saw the 1/4" guard protection... ADD IT! I WANT THAT!!!!!! ITS PERFECT!!!!

N, I wish I could figure out an economical way to get them there...

I love seeing J's work with my name on it :)

I seriously cannot wait to smash this bumper on some rocks... Im more excited by this thing than anything else I've done to the truck so far!

edit: Pics work now

if I didn't know you from the forum, I would think R Bambi is a stripper or adult film actress who" cannot wait to smash her bumper on rocks ":p.

LOL Dammit.. I knew using my stage name was a bad idea.

Huge rust hole in the quarter panel let a bunch of dirt in... Im sure mud sitting inside there doesn't contribute to additional rust in ANY way lol.

Action shot !

Im planning on welding this up before before the bumper gets here.

When you go to place the DS panel, you'll notice that there's a huge group of wires blocking you from getting it into the correct spot... You'll need to unplug all of them in the quarter panel, pull the harness back to C-pillar, and then stuff it through this hole instead. Then you're on your way again!

After drilling, then re-drilling holes the bottom for the allen bolts (wrong hole locations and the two missing bolts needed to be a .5" longer..), we got the panel installed and the ARB template taped on.

After a quick run to Home Depot, we had the necessary bolts and the compressor in place :)

Being lazy, I wanted to call it a day. I didn't want to wrestle with the other side today. I had had enough of pulling little metal shavings out of the carpet! But Aidan wanted to continue on.. alright fine haha.
And thank fully, this side went on MUCH easier than the DS panel, probably because the holes actually lined up...

Sort of like with the big clump of wires on the other side, the fuel door release cable is in the way of the PS door! But all you do is unclip it from the fuel door, pull it back to the C-pillar, then stuff it through this hole right onto of the wheel well (after enlarging it).

All clean for pictures :D

Driver side is super clean and almost ready to stuff with a few kilos!

Passenger side is dirty as hell and just for show!

All set for daily duties :)

And I found out that my tailgate lid got shipped back to Oregon for some reason after sitting in Illinois for 4 days... Anyone know why the hell UPS did that hahaha??? Anyway, it should be here on 5th, so hopefully they'll try a little harder to get it to me than their last attempt.

EDIT: What did people with WagonGear side panels do about the rear shoulder belts? Ill probably mount them to the panels themselves, but wanted to first see if anyone reading had a better suggestion.

Oh yeah! Best mod i did today.. CUPHOLDERS!!!!!!!!
Been sitting in the back seat for a few months, finally stuck them on using extra Wagon Gear bolts.

I lke the cupholders P. IMO the PS panel is pretty much worthless. I know there is "some" room in there for storage and the ease of getting to the hoses, etc... IDK :meh: Are you putting anything in there?

That sucks on the tailgate. I really liked the one on Marley. I stored my axe, machete, jumper cables, rope, and a ziploc bag of a qt of oil and some PS fluid. I think it is the handiest of all the panels KR makes.

Looks good Bambi!

On my 60 I was able to relocate that vapor separator on the PS further back...on the tail light side of the fuel tank inlet...but the vapor separator was mounted differently, so not sure how that looks for the 62.

More info on the umbrella mod, tho...classy mounting that umbrella there behind the rear seat!

I agree completely with you on the PS panel. Nothings going in there and I'm not even going to move the vapor thing out of the way. It is purely for show lol. Will try and figure out why theres so much muck inside there... No holes anywhere that i saw, so I'm gonna do a little more digging tomorrow.

Im really looking forward to the tailgate lid, KR said it was turned out the best out of all three. Ill probably use it as an excuse to buy a new long gun lol! After I finish paying for your bumper of course ;)
Did you do anything to stop things from shifting around in there, or just stuff it so full nothing rattled around?

Thanks, J :)

P,

I had an emergency wool army blanket that kept most things padded.

As far as the muck in the lower quarters... there are a couple of rubber plugs on the inner panel under the rig. You have to get under there and look, IIRC they are 1" diameter. They are about 4-6" up from the bottom pinch weld seam, if they are missing and you have been driving through red GA clay/soup/water/mud... (I KNOW YOU HAVE... It will get in there.

Hahaha I just found that umbrella back there earlier today. I usually have a plastic mat that blocks it from view... Great to know its in there though :)

Yeah, in the Wagongear instructions it mentions moving the thing out of the way, but i didn't really want to. Im probably not gonna put anything in the DS panel either unless its something ill rarely need. Those panel latches are a freaking pain in the ass to reach she you're only 5'10" and your trucks sprung over haha!
