It was super rainy yesterday (and today) but dammit i had a deadline that i couldn't miss, @reevesci lol. So Aidan and I worked through the wet and FINISHED THE SPRING OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We actually tested it last night around 10pm, but i never got above 35mph. It still needed some ATF added to the transmission and the power steering, and we still had to weld up the rear shock mounts and rear brake tabs... and tweak the proportioning valve so the rear brakes actually worked haha.

On the test drive i noticed that i couldn't turn nearly as well to the left ask could to the right, i thought i might've put the steering stops in the wrong place and was really worried until i got over there this morning and immediately saw that the problem required much less welding... just needed to rotate the ram mount up on the tie rod so it stopped hitting the unbolt haha.

On to poser neighborhood shots :)

Already rubbed the knuckle ball paint off haha, and my ghetto fabbed front spring hanger that i need to replace... those washers gotta go lol

And i need to cut the diff breather.

Street wheelin in the ATL after leaving ACC, nothing was screaming out at them to fix. i felt really good about that!

And Woody's usual stomping ground, sitting still in traffic...

Things id like to look into:
-LOWERING the height. The rear is a little stink bugged and id like to rectify that by fixing the rear shackle angle. Also looking into frenching the shackles into the frame.
-Thats it, everything else is perfect for me. Even the brakes work as well as my brother's 80 on 35s. Im pumped and not scared to drive Woody anymore lol!

And I'm sorry J, my first wheeling trip won't be on the 1st, it got moved back a week or two. So not many awesome off camber shots until then :crybaby:

Looks damn good P.. Very well done sir. Proud for you man...

J

Thanks a ton J! I really appreciate it :)

SHe's beautiful. Welcome to the small Pea Nuss club. Now you need a diesel and a manual transmission.

Thanks M :) Im proud to be a member lol. Although i didn't think i needed a SOA truck to be in that club :lol::lol:
Working on the manual, not so sure about the diesel $$$ lol

Looks awesome man! This is how all 60 series cruisers should come off the showroom floor. SOA and 37's. You think you will build a rear bumper on that beast? Quarter panel protection might be a good idea to protect Woody. Good job on the build dude. Its definitely on my list of top 10

I agree, rear bumper with quarter panel protection is on my to buy list too.

Thanks Ty :) I agree they should've come a little more offroadable than they did haha. Ive been talking with J about a few rear bumper designs, id like some rear quarter guards, but trying to incorporate them into my "favorite" design may prove a little tricky. And your build is awesome too, ya started off doing the SOA like i should've done haha

Yep its finally dun ;)

Do you think you'd go all new rear bumper or add to the Kaymar you've already got?

Awesome work :D

I love how your first concern after doing the SOA is figuring how how to lower it. Seems counter-intuitive, but I had the same thoughts!

Thanks Johnny! Definitely wouldn't have gone as smoothly without your contributions. And yeah, lowering it right after spending all this time to raise it up... people at work are like WTF! Lol!!

I'm debating it, I don't know if it will come out looking like a factory bumper on the kaymar. I want a rear bumper with two swingouts and quarter panel protection. I like the bumper that REEVESCI made for Marley and I like the 4x4labs bumpers. Right now I'm broke and in the midst or readjusting to my new financial and physical situation, so I'll be living vicariously through you guys for some time to come. The good news is the toys are paid for :D

I missed it, but why do you want to lower it?

s*** man I was gonna live vicariously through y'all for a while lol. I want to lower its just a bit too high. Don't wanna roll in any off camber situations haha :steer:

You have to watch out for that. I still get a little pucker factor at off camber stuff. I try to hit every obstacle head on. Drive it for a month the way it is then decide, you might get used to it and like it.

that looks ****ing mean man, nice work!! love the wheel and tire combo too

Thanks maat! I really do too. I was worried the guys at Kauffman tire were gonna tell me they couldn't mount the tires on the rim because they're a .5" too narrow for a 12.50" tire, but i was very relieved to find out they don't give a s*** lol.

Steelies look TIGHT. The black D style I have on Goss are nice, but like these much better.

J

Yeah i think they look really good on 60 series. I had the black D style when i first got Woody and liked them a lot.

Yeah im not gonna get back into it for a couple weeks... I could use a break lol. Drives incredibly well right now though. Brakes, steering, ride, it all feels so freaking nice!

Love it, nice work.
Thank you! I appreciate it :)

Off-camber stuff takes some getting used to in a SOA rig, but it's not bad. The best fix for this is to go much wider. Get some spacers and stick those wheeling tires out from the fenders. Helps immensely.

I hear ya.. I went to 3 shops and no one would mount my 345s (13.2" wide) on the 8.5" D's of mine... I just went to a buddies and mounted my own.. (much faster than any shop around here I might add.) ;)

THIS^^ I love how Goss handles with the wider tires and spacers.. I'm SUA, but I'm up there, and it helped a ton..

J

Yup, I haven't wheeled I'm a while, but when I do go, I use the spacers and creepy crawlers. Gives me a few inches on each side. Looks ridiculous, but feels stable
