How did you wire the blinkers when you installed the bumper?

I decided to wire them Lexus style, meaning I did not do the corner marker Land Cruiser conversion. So, I just wired turns to turns, parking to parking, and ground to ground. I soldered and used heat shrink or liquid electrical tape for all my connections.

When I replaced the heater T’s I thought if I could spin the clamps around I could get at them with some pliers. So I used a hook to do that.

When I got into this I discovered two throttle body hoses were slightly seeping, not even enough to wet the full circumference. On further inspection they appeared to have been damaged by previous engine work. Since the hoses weren’t in stock I used some cut to fit 5/16” fuel hose rated at 50psi. Fuel hose can withstand coolant but don’t use a coolant hose for fuel. I had to substitute this as no auto parts store locally carried coolant hose in that size. I added a piece of 1/2” hose to protect from cuts on the upper timing cover since mimicking the stock hose would kink the straight hose. So, a loop to loop did the trick and I am very pleased with the results.

I reached out to Falken about the correct stock tire pressure for my new Wildpeak ATW/3 tires and received some good customer service.

I’m planning on running 42psi all around right now with the extra weight of the bumper.

Some tire pics today. A little dirt to highlight them. This size looks like what they should have come with from the factory.

Had a little bit of a leak from the drivers side lower T fitting. Reusing good hoses is fine but over time and heat cycles they do mold to a point. Not the first time I’ve seen this. A simple hose and clamp reseating to make sure everything was back in its original position solved the problem. New throttle body hoses are working great. There is slight coolant loss with changing T’s. Expect to top off.

My daughter and I did a few things today. Changed the trim on the shifter and added a brake controller. Here’s some pictures of the side by side differences between the early and late trim.

Brake controller installed using plug and play harness, removing ashtray, bolting bracket on trim, and removing lower dash to plug in grounding on a body bolt.

Time for lights! Picked up some round LEDs and a wiring harness. I had bought a set of fog lights for another vehicle a while back and the switch didn’t fit the dashboard. Lo and behold it fits perfectly on the LX like it was meant to be there. Of course my little helper continues on the job.

My daughter and I installed @Ayune ScanGuage mount just released for the 03LX. Very nice product! Painted it with Krylon Khaki. We pulled the pillar trim and visors using cable ties to secure from under the dash around the windshield. It’s nice to have transmission temperature now!

Picked up a snorkel. My little helper and I worked on the install. Line up the template and drill. I used a step bit for the studs and a 4.5” hole saw @REZARF loaned me. I cut slightly larger holes than my prior installs with this idea from REZARF and the fitment was so much easier. I notched out the power antenna so the template would fit better. Used touch up paint for the edges and blue RTV to seal the pillar. Very pleased with the outcome.

A buddy came over and helped install the ARB Sport rack. It’s going to be great to have so much more space to carry things on the roof.

Loaded up the roof rack today, hitch hauler, and seven people and found the limit to the AHC. Came home and swapped the rear coils for the ones I took off my 80. Decided to crank the torsion bars another 3 turns. System is happy again. Will dial it in once the rest of the armor is installed.

Roof rack looks slick. Goes great with the front bumper and snorkel. Clean.

In the process of changing the coils and always trying to inspect parts I discovered a drivers brake caliper pin that was stuck. Ended up removing the bracket, putting it in my vise and working it with some penetrating oil. This allowed me to remove, clean, and put some synthetic brake lubricant on it. Surprisingly it wasn’t rusted as I thought but more like the pin grease had solidified.

Weekend camping trip worked out real well with the 80 series coils. Seems to be dialed in perfectly for our needs. Rides much better too. Thanks to @PADDO and @neilsen100 for the idea.

Rear bumper is on and other than how long it takes to install one of these I like it.
