4.10 gears in those?
Cool. Was hoping they were 3.70 that he didn't want![]()
Pretty much everything besides the housing, shafts, and hubs. No parking brake hardware either. Every stud, nut, washer, seal, brake component will be replaced. I am keeping the TC brake for now but it's nice to know I can switch to axle if I deside to upgrade to split case/5 speed in the future. What did you order from Beno on your FF rebuild?
Alright Beno. I'm interested. I have a FF from a 40 and going through the same excerise. Can you send me a part and cist breakdown. Basically copy / past.
There was no copy or paste. @Mr Cimarron told me what he was doing, I asked some pertinent questions, and we agreed on the parts needed and I ordered them.
There was no quote. I just ordered the following:
04495-60070: 1
47043-60090: 1
47044-60040: 1
47550-60120: 2
47491-20011: 2
47447-60010: 2
90119-06084: 4
90201-12452: 8
94115-71200: 8
47449-06010: 16
90501-20012: 4
90506-18031: 2
90506-26011: 1
90506-26014: 1
47061-60011: 1

47611-35040: 1
47612-35040: 1
90213-06013: 2
90213-07010: 2
47643-60010: 1
47644-60010: 1
90506-12031: 2
90101-12175: 8
42431-60020: 2
90313-93001: 2
90113-10003: 2
A few more pieces would be needed if you were keeping the ebrake on the rear axle housing vs. the transfer case.
I can't remember if I posted the replacement glow controller coil I found from Australia. It glows after 6-7 seconds which is way to soon from the 15-20 that it should take. Even with letting it glow for the proper time the engine would start up like crap. At first I thought it was just the cold weather but after putting the old one back in it fired right up. So now I'm back to having a functioning glow system but the coil doesn't glow orange. I'm sure a smarter electrical guru like @bj40green could explain why it was happening.
Hj45 coil on the left that came with my BJ and the aftermarket coil that was supposed to work for the B engine on the right.

Yup. That's what I was thinking in my head. I just never know the proper terms when it comes to the magic of electricity. The one on the right has a small diameter and one additional turn, thus has more resistance and will get hotter faster. The one on the left has a bigger wire diameter and one less turn, thus will conduct cyrrent better..
My 2c
Yes. That will be my next attemp.
