Started dismantling the axle to get to the point of making it a one man operation moving around. No broken bolts and drums came off with little effort. Since I am replacing all hardware, including hub studs, it was relatively easy to get the cone washers off by just beating the s*** out of the studs. Only issue was one of the hub stud pins came out with the axle shaft. I still need to pull the hubs and then it will be ready to blast and paint.

Axle completely torn down and ready for my amateur sand blasting attemp this weekend. I think I got all parts needed ordered with help from @beno. We were chatting as I was tearing it down and he was one step ahead on the parts I needed. Awesome.

What did you order from Beno on your FF rebuild?
Pretty much everything besides the housing, shafts, and hubs. No parking brake hardware either. Every stud, nut, washer, seal, brake component will be replaced. I am keeping the TC brake for now but it's nice to know I can switch to axle if I deside to upgrade to split case/5 speed in the future.

There was no copy or paste. @Mr Cimarron told me what he was doing, I asked some pertinent questions, and we agreed on the parts needed and I ordered them.

Beno. I think we got some wires crossed. I am going to do the exact same project and i am interested in getting parts through you. Since you have already done this effort as well based on my conversation with Joe, and based on the post above fron Mr. Cimarron, I thought it would be easy for you to provide me a duplicate quote for the parts.

Thanks
Ernie

A few more pieces would be needed if you were keeping the ebrake on the rear axle housing vs. the transfer case.

Also, this is NOT a definitive list.

Everything with OEM parts should be placed within context and function.

Thank you sir. I'll investigate and get in contact with you.

I can't remember if I posted the replacement glow controller coil I found from Australia. It glows after 6-7 seconds which is way to soon from the 15-20 that it should take. Even with letting it glow for the proper time the engine would start up like crap. At first I thought it was just the cold weather but after putting the old one back in it fired right up. So now I'm back to having a functioning glow system but the coil doesn't glow orange. I'm sure a smarter electrical guru like @bj40green could explain why it was happening.
Hj45 coil on the left that came with my BJ and the aftermarket coil that was supposed to work for the B engine on the right.

The one on the right has a small diameter and one additional turn, thus has more resistance and will get hotter faster. The one on the left has a bigger wire diameter and one less turn, thus will conduct cyrrent better..

My 2c

Yup. That's what I was thinking in my head. I just never know the proper terms when it comes to the magic of electricity.

That of course assumes both are the exact same material. ;)

If you have ever look at lght bulb filiment under a scope, you will be shocked at how many turns and tiny gauge of wire it takes to increase the resistance to where it will glow almost whi
