Danny

Tore into the carb yesterday. It has had water in it. Not the worst, but not the best either.

You can see from the pic the deposits on top of the secondary slo jet. Water to the top of the bowl. It took 10 minutes to pull the pin that holds the float to the air horn. Highly unusual.

And the secondary diaphragm. It's going on the Wall of Shame!

I don't know what it originally came from, but it wasn't a Landcruiser. It had a piece of bailing wire to attach it to the secondary.

I bought it on MUD a couple of years ago... shame me all you want, I would have used twine!

Have fun with it while Chester and I have to be out hiking

Danny is that your primary carb or a backup??

Danny is out driving 44 and hiking; this is a backup carb.

Danny, my purpose in posting was and is not Shame. Sorry if you took it that way. Whenever I get a core for rebuilding that has issues, I just make it a habit to document them. If it's for a forum member I just post as a matter of course. No harm intended.

Well, Chester and I are out... but not driving now ... winds about 65mpm and visibility down... No mountains left... they blew away.

It's like being back in Libya... raining mud now... like a haboob.

I quit driving when 44 came to a stop in the headwind

I wasn't insulted Mark. I knew it was a mess... and was sure you would pay me for letting you work on it.

Gotta go now, we're overflying Lake Mead now... gonna drag my DVD player out and watch NYPD Blue, while Chester naps... out ETA INTO El Paso is about 4 hours.

Be safe out there this wind has been blowing over trucks and trees it is tearing up the valley roads.

All that extra gear he needs the airbags for? It's worth it's weight as ballast right now!

Crazy wind up here in Prescott at a mile high today

Thanks! We're good. It's bloody cold out here now!!

A lot of dust and dirt, followed by driving horizontal rain and a dusting of snow.

I don't know how high the wind got out here, but I pointed 44 into the wind, set the parking brake and listened to her nails screeching, as she hung on to to rocks.

I thought I was going to have to start her up and put her in 4lo, to try to hold position against the wind.

I'm prone to exaggeration, for those who don't know... but, this was hell of an adventure!!

This morning I was beautiful!! We took a nice 4 mile hike and climbed halfway up a mountain.

Chester flushed several rabbits and chase them all... one flushed about 5' in front of us and he was so surprised, he almost forgot to chase him.

Great day in the refuge!!

Danny rotate your phone sideways and see if the edit button appears at the bottom of your screen.

The wind died, the rain stopped... then about 30 minutes later, it started sleeting and got even colder and the wind kicked back up, visibility dropped to almost nothing and the rain started back up.

Looks like it's 39 in Indian Springs, so colder than 39 here and raining and I've gotta pee.

Shoulda brung my male urinal...

Ok, I thought I'd take advantage of the lull in the rain... I swung the door open, in the dark, and climbed out and got hit by driving snow... a whole new meaning to pissing into the wind.

I'll be watching for a horde of locusts in the morning.
