this will be a daily driver ,weekend warrior mostly trails...and I want to run 33's. fear is way to hard of a ride.
thanks for input. terry

With the mini truck conversion, you are replacing everything from the knuckle on out, so the calipers bolt right onto that.

Check the FAQ (at the top of this forum), there's TONS of info in there about the mini-truck disc swap.

For my money, the OME 2.5" setup is perfect for what you are describing.

Here's ours with the OME 2.5" and 33x9.50s on stock steel wheels.

It rides much better than it did before on the road, and it is without a doubt more flexy on the rocks too.

hides hood hook latch...check.....umm..thats missing too !

The hood hook latch did not come on 72's. Not sure what year they started but I wish I had it on my 71. Scares the daylights out of you when you forget to hook the side latches on the hood and an oncoming vehicles wind gust flips the hood up at about 45 MPH. Does a real job on reforming the hood and front lip on the hardtop not to mention giving you a heart attack! My son was with me as a witness.

Who can name the factory color......

HERES A PHOTO OF WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE THE FACTORY COLOR...
ANY INFO ON THE COLOR OR HOW TO GET A PAINT CODE ???:hhmm:

Is a weber or holley and a header worth it on an f eng. ?

I was also wondering if a new carb and a header is truely worth the money and time on my 72fj40 F ?:meh:

Anyone have pic's of tub where top mounts ??????

It may sound dumb but, my 72 came with a top in totall dissasembly and I have never had it on. but the top edge of the tub is bevelled and not flat. so is there a metal piece (that I am missing) that goes between the top and the tub ? anyone have pics of all the parts required for the top ? perhaps pics of top just as it goes on......:hhmm:
thanks for any insight.

Hard top mounting

You are not missing anything. On the inside of the tub (opposite the beveled edge) is a square tube running from behind the door opening to the tailgate area. In this tube you will find many threaded holes. This is where the top bolts to the body. I will post some pics of the top mounting locations on my '72 shortly.

thanks for info. you say i am not missing anything...yet i have no idea where this square tube with threaded holes is. I look forward to checking out the pic's if you post ! thank you.

In the first pic, you can see how far the sides of the top overhang the sides of the tub when installed. The bevel you mention will be covered by this overhang. In the other two pics you can see the square channel part of the tub where the top bolts on.
