I did start this over in the 4 sale section but will move it here since I may deside to hold on to a real jem here, the jury is out on that one. Any way here is where I will update as I go along and post pics as I am ready, here is the tool kit

ya big tease....lets see this beauty already...and then give us the whole story

I bought this 1972 fj55 dealer installed factory air , 79000 mile cruiser from the original owner, thats right a 1 owner, she bought it here in Flagstaff in 1972, she drove it daily up until 1995 when she bought her new Subaru, she then put it in storage mode until I bought it last week, the DMV let me keep the origanal title as a keep sake , she put in a new battery and I drove it home, she gave me all her service records and booklets she got when she bought it new.The tank was full so I drained it, what a mess, any way put new gas in, changed coolant, oil, belt, hoses, air filter, today I spent the day washing inside of her, she cleaned up real nice. I adjusted the valves yesterday, tomarrow I am changing all 90 weight. She is for the most part rust free, there is some surface rust on roof and floor, none of it is a problem, lower front fenders are clean as well as drip rail.

It is all original except for the radio, I even have the factory wheels, it has the origanal spare too.

I ordered the gear for the rear glass so hope to have that working this weekend,

I will keep my progress updated here so you guys can see whats going on

It drives down the road as good as my fj80, no kidden, It needs new tires as these have flat spots and shake.

WOW...that is sweet.....more pics....

Damn...ya gotta squirt the roof...but the rest....I don't even know if I'd run a buffer over it. That is definitely a keeper pig.

That is an awesome find, such excellent shape for the age, living in the desert does wonders.

I know what you mean about old rigs in KY as I am from there myself... my 55 is from CO but not near as clean as your desert specimen.... nice score! Ahem, more pics please...

Seth,

That thing is SWEET! Thanks for stopping by yesterday (next time bring the piggy) - we need to get together and wrench some time. I need some motivation to get into my garage, it's been just too dang cold.

Just to update you all, cleaned the inside up real good , smells fresh now, got the back window working, works with the key in tailgate but not switch up front, Am working on making some super cool replacement front kick panels that look dead ringer for stock but are made of plastic, same thickness and exact color, and texture that will be almost spot on, will not hold moisture like the stock pieces and no one will ever know that they are not oem.

Here are some pics with the seats in and the little ooops on the front fender, I think I found a front in great shape but still working on that one, Kande cleaned all the stock seam sealer out of the drip rail and it is ready to clean and seal.

Dang Seth - that thing gets better with every picture. Can't wait to see it in person. DON'T SELL IT (unless to me)!

Call me about the parts and hopefully I can hook you up if not needed for my 72.

He's got friends in "high places". The UPS dude has a route on the out-skirts of town and showed him where a few are - which is how he found my house.

Looking forward to hearing his story on this one...
