Just seeing if this mpg seems normal. I towed my 19 ft center console boat up to maine from nj. Approx tow weight 3500 lb.
I kept the speed around 65 to 70mph. Tank average was10.9 mpg. No traffic jams but plenty of long uphill sections. I have 10 k miles on my replacement engine (replacement engine had 45k on it). Synthetic fluids in diffs and engine. Rest of truck has 245k on it. I towed both in 5th gear and in 6th with power button turned on. Premium gas. 35 psi cold in tires. Outside temp 80 degrees.

Hell...I'm jealous. I average around 9 when towing our 4kish travel trailer. 33s, OTT tune with ECT button on, transmission in S6 in a '16 LC. I averaged 8.3 during our 4,400-mile trip this summer with limited dirt with the trailer. That also included some non-towing trail time...and a LOT of climbing. But it hurt.

That mileage sounds about right. I get 10-12 depending on terrain.

Well it was two 10 day trips. A year apart.

8-10.5 MPG towing 5800lbs; 6-8MPG in the mountains on rt 70 west of Denver.

7-9 mpg at 65-75mph.

Towing an 8k Airstream and RTT, with combined weight or 15.5k. On 35 A/T or 37 R/T tires.

8-9 mpg towing my campers going 55-65mph. Both are ~7k lbs. the black series gets closer to 9mpg but it is shorter, narrower, and the front slopes more then my outdoor RV.

Around 9 towing a 24’ pontoon. Same as others.

From my experience this is extremely unusual, something must be VERY wrong because I have never averaged more than 9.5, it’s usually less.
